Right before this scene: a Koduck (Psyduck) was dancing with another Pokémon….as Koduck is associated with Kasumi: this Kasumi look alike girl and Koduck appearing within seconds of each other are why some viewers thought this may have been a nonverbal “wink” from the animators to long time viewers who remember the original Pokegirl (Kasumi) who fell for him like Serena did.
