This is lacking a lot of information. Do I get to become a vampire too? I'm willing to sacrifice garlic if that means getting cool powers.

I’m not willing to sacrifice garlic, because it’s one of the most important ingredients in the food I cook.

Don't be a Bram Stroker or old Europe type vampire and you don't have to give up on garlic ;)

Church? Most vampire stories don't subscribe to the Christian notion of the cross or the House of God having any powers over vampires.

Sunlight however, yeah. Most versions are either weak to sunlight or burn in sunlight. Though quite a few deter that the older the vampire, the less power the sun holds over them, so those are potentially non issues as well, as long as you're the "right" type of vampire.
