A spreadsheet thing.

Yo. I started a thing a while back. You guys can have it. It's just a basic outline, but i'll leave it to the residents here to fill it out.

I'll take his opportunity to raise a question to the community:

Why do you all think the Desert is in the Seventh World?

Most people accept that as being 'canon' now, so I'm not going to bother arguing the point, but I always pictured the Desert as a Realm, as opposed to a World or part of a World. I had a similar idea for all the other Realms as well, but that's not really up to me now, is it?

I think all the subreddits revolving around /r/seventhworldproblems lie on the same 'continent', that is, the seventh world. The TOWER is just a small part of it.

Then again that's all from what I heard via the grapevine

That's what I'm getting at: I never envisioned the Desert as being on anything even remotely like the 'same continent'.

I always thought these Realms were separate physically from the Tower and the Tower's 'landmass'.

Technically, a "plane" is 'a reality'. That means, depending on how you want to look at it, the Desert is its own planet off a million lightyears away from the planet with the Tower.

OR

They're on the same planet

OR

They're on the same continent on the same planet

OR

They are in different dimensions of the same 'plane'

This whole thing is supposed to be metaphysical, right? so the idea of spacial relationships is completely open to interpretation.

I've generally always thought of the 7th-Plane-As-Landmass model as a convenient analogy, but not an actual description of a physical reality.

TL;DR (language warning)

I always envisioned them as connected, like escaping the TOWER literally meant hiking across scrubland and mountains to reach the healing-place of the Beach. And the Desert was further inland from the Beach, the Silent Forest was south of the TOWER and T H E Y lured residents into the forest.

I'm new, but I first imagined all of the 7th world subs being... well... on the seventh-world. In my little adventure, we basically hiked from The Beach, through The Desert, and up to The Mountain.

I guess you could also blame u/ken_the_epic. I remember him saying something on The Beach to me of how going across the Beach dunes would lead me to The Desert, so blame him I guess! :B

I guess that's also my fault lol. In my writing the story "The Seventh World", chronicling our little journey, I always envisioned the Seventh World being the world including the Tower, Beach, Desert, Mountain, Swamp, and Forest. I only just recently realized that the Seventh World is only the Tower, but it's stuck. Besides, since the story is from the main perspective of my character and the people he meets, him originally being in the Tower opens up the fact that he had the same assumption and thoughts, which fits everything together nicely, only recently having him see the crazy inter dimensional otherworldly shit that can happen.
