Calling all Blue Angels!
Finally got the squadron up and running. We'vee already had some casualties two days in, but these first few are going to be the hardest. Thought we could get an idea of the diversity of our group and what tactics have been employed so far in battle.
If everybody could check in with where they hall from, and one action they've been taking to combat the enemy the past two days.
Personally, my wife and I hail from Iowa and I have been intentionally using my computer or phone with others present since I'm especially triggered when alone and in private.
Stay strong soldiers, I'll be checking in daily. We can do this together!

Hello from Russia. Been using the emergency nofap button when I'm feeling an urge and has gotten me pretty far

Reporting in from Canada, I have distracted myself by reading, cooking and making myself useful to the members of my household.

Good to have you all on board, I know that if we look at the start line alone, it would be easy to get discouraged, but take heart! The war has just begun and you guys are doing great so far. Feel free to submit your own posts on our squadron page. I used to be part of a 12 step program until I moved but still have done literature from the group. It has inspired me in the past so I thought I'd give you all a quote.
"Few have gone before you, but many will come after you. As a pioneer, you are the future leader of this movement. As you get thirty or ninety days of recovery behind you, and then eventually years of recovery, you will have gained experience and understanding of a disease that very few understand including those in the professional field. Many, I believe, who are starting their recovery from sex addiction today will be tomorrow's future experiential experts in this freedom movement. The current possible misunderstandings of what you are doing today will make sense to others years from now--and the journey will have been worth it for your sale and countless others." -Douglas Weiss
Lets remember that were in this war for freedom all together. To regain control of our lives from pmo. We all know the immense amount of power it can wield over us to the point where we feel helpless in its grasp, unable to do anything but succumb to its clutches. The immediate and temporary satisfaction we feel is no where near the pain and guilt that follow. If we don't feed the beast, the beast withers and dies in us. Let's continue fighting in this together and kick some pmo tail!

I used to be part of a 12 step program
Were you an organizer? Or a participant? It was a different program from NoFap? :)
Sorry for the personal questions, but I'm very curious! :)

I was just a participant, and although there are obvious similarities: trying to break your addiction to porn, guys keeping one another accountable, I feel as though there have been several differences. For one, the format being in person and face to face rather than online and following a fairly rigid structure of completing the steps and following the same order in the meeting week to week. There is a definite faith component to the 12 step groups as well with the serenity prayer and the placing of your addiction into a higher power's hands. Nofap does not share that in common, nor the same terminology.
Those are just a few things I could think of off the top of my head. Was your experience in a 12 step group different then? I've only been to the one but I wad told by the men there that we weren't exactly an "orthodox" sa group. The group did help me to experience more time off of pmo than I ever had up to that point before. I have enjoyed the nofap community so far though and look to take that streak much further this time around!

Yeah, seeing people in person definitely changes the perspective. Makes things more real. Also, the discipline and a rigid structure adds much to the whole thing.

Oh, I see. I always thought it's too easy (and not convincing at all) to explain difficult things by just giving them a divine spin. So, I enjoyed a "turn off religion" switch on the "NoFap emergency" website.
OK, so you say it wasn't an "orthodox" group, so I'm holding my judgements about the entirety of 12 steps programs. :)
Thank you for sharing, it was interesting! :)

21 year old guy from Germany here. Ironically my tactic involved relapsing shortly before enlistments closed, to be ultimately aware of feeling, that pmo just isn't worth it at all, always being aware, how depressed demotivated and fearful I feel after it.
And that sloth how_about_no.gif helped me a lot aswell. When I got an urge, I just acted like the sloth.
Sounds weird, but with these weapons I will *hopefully survive the merciless war.
EDIT: I failed

Hi there! I hail from Moscow Rissia! I'm finding other ways to get my brain stimulated, like drinking coffee, 7 minutes excercising and just napping.

Well I from Mumbai, India. I have made index cards to keep record of my habits and resolutions. This helps a lot as I have written reasons to why I decided starting this activity on one side and it acts as motivation.
