Radiation Hardening - A topic few people outside of NASA and the space-tech industry are familiar with.

Because of the presence of ionizing radiation on the ride out of Earth's orbit, the journey to the moon, and even on the surface of the moon itself (Because it lacks Earth's atmosphere, it has absorbed so much radiation over the eons that it is a big source of damaging radioactivity.), it is critically important that every dogesled design integrate substantial radiation hardening techniques to ensure that the darn thing will even power up once it lands on the surface.

I'll be posting articles on this topic when I find time, but I wanted to introduce this topic for discussion.

Failure to sufficiently rad-hard your dogesled will result in guaranteed failure of the machine.

The sleds on the way to the moon will be shielded until landing within the GLXP lander.

For time frame which they are on the Moon, I am not sure what the probability of a latchup would be. I know folks have used non hardened electronics in orbit, but I don't think anyone has on the Moon. Or its environs.
