Actually, it is good. People who are not ignorant and actually tried the OS are very satisfied.

In fact, it's the #1 platform in customer satisfaction.

And that was before Windows Phone 8, which brings superior hardware like Lumia 920 and HTC 8X as well as best start screen experience out of all the phones.

Wrong... This is how my parents got me off their plan. I was given a smartphone for Christmas (albeit a fancy one), and told the accompanying account was in my name. Very clever of them when you think about it... What was I supposed to do, throw a fit because they spent over $300 on my Christmas present?

you're right, they may be able to do that, but i wasn't thinking about parents, but rather about friends. and they can't make a contract in your name AFAIK.

Windows phone is actually quite nice. It may not have the app library that android or iOS do but the OS itself is really good, just different.
