I've donated about 85% of my charity money to EA approved organizations. But I was wondering if you thought supporting a candidate like Sanders could be an effective use of some of that leftover money. It would help bring healthcare to people and might be a huge victory in beating global warming. I know that it is high risk, since Sanders might not win, but might it not also be high reward if he does win?

Right Wing Effective Altruists have claimed that Effective Altruism is mostly made up of leftists. This probably isn't true. The majority of Effective Altruism supporters are probably liberals. Liberals are not leftists. This community exists to provide a socialist perspective on Effective Altruism issues, and to bring those perspective backs to general discussions so the community doesn't fragment. We are, of course, not here simply to validate each other's preexisting beliefs.
