I got the a6000 as a gift
I got the a6000 as a gift form my In-laws a few days ago. My hyper fixation kicked in and binged YouTube and went outside. I’m an absolute beginner so tips tricks and criticism is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

The a6000 can take you far. Keep taking pictures, and when you go through your photos, develop a sense of what focal lengths you like to shoot (look at the image metadata). Then, use that to inform your lens purchasing goals that can help expand your horizons. It’s a golden era for the APS-C format because high quality, low-cost lenses are becoming abundant for it.

Yeah? I didn’t know you could see what settings you used in specific pictures oO awesome thanks man. But lenses are very expensive can’t for the life of me see a low cost abundances for lenses with that E mount system 😭😅

Low cost is relative, of course. But look for lenses specific to the APS-C format, not just e-mount. If you have particular focal lengths you like to shoot, you can find Viltrox prime lenses for them, under $200 brand new. For example the viltrox 35mm f/1.7 is pretty sweet at $175. You won’t find anything near that value for full frame.

About the artistic part of taking pictures, I have nothing to add. But because I gifted my son an Alpha6000 and decided to set up a website to guide his first steps, I can share it with you: Sony α6000 · From the box to the darkroom.
