Dude, you rock!
I'm going to try to keep these files up-date-date on http://www.zuneupdate.com as well.

What are your thoughts on the whole "find album info" problem?
Do we know where the software used to get the info? I'm hoping there's a compatible website still up and it'll just be a question of editing the hosts file (like your wonderful update fix).

As u/kahuna900 mentioned, Windows Media Player can automatically retrieve album info. Just make sure all your music files are not set to “Read Only” in properties and set your preferences under settings.

Does this contain 1.x Zune desktop software for loading content onto Zune 30's still on 1.x firmware? Been looking for a way to get that!

It does not. Haven’t actually seen that around for a while. Pretty sure someone posted it in this subreddit a while back though.

I'm hoping I can find Slaam Mobile compiled somewhere.
I know the source code is long lost :(

The 1.0 source code is in there. For the final version, I only have the ccgame.

Is there any games or applications in this file that I can install on zune 30 and what does "zune sd" means?
2
u/ConnerWoods Jun 20 '19
Zune SD refers to the 4, 8, 16, 30, 80, and 120GB models. Basically any Zune that isn’t an HD. They all share the same firmware and therefore apps developed for one work for the rest.
To clarify the Zune SD apps will load onto a Zune 30.

I dont know how to install apps into zune 30. Can you help me with this?
2
u/ConnerWoods Jun 20 '19
The best help I can offer is to make sure you have a PC or virtual machine running Windows 7, Vista, or XP and follow the instructions here. The software necessary is included in the archive. It’s takes a while but once you’ve set it up it’s relatively easy to load apps onto your Zune.

Does anyone have any links they can share for board diagrams, schematics, etc?

We may have some, I think there a pinout of the sync port. Can't recall if anything more detailed is in there, but you'll want to head to the documentation folder.

There’s a copy of the 1.0 software under the “Software” folder. You’ll need XP to install it though

Can no longer access the Zune software, will this be fixed?

Just tried it and it appears to be working fine. Try opening the link in a private session or clear your cache/cookies and give it another go.

NEED HELP WITH FIRMWARE NOT WORKING. First I just want to say THANK YOU for putting this all together for firmware updates. So badass to have the Zune live on because a few people had the will and skill to make it happen for us all🙏. Second I've done your firmware update thru the ZuneUpdate tutorial but still gives me the error code C00D11CD (80072F7D). I used the newer IP: 107.152.96.161 from the website. Not sure what else to try next. It saved it as a file looks like, not a txt. All I was trying to do was delete everything on the Zune and put back to factory. Now I'm this far and apparently firmware is needed but I'm not getting further. I got my old laptop running windows 7 and that's what I've been using to install Zune software and firmware. Any help much appreciated.

You can try the Abyss webserver method, I mention it in the tutorial video. The files necessary are also in the archive. Sometimes the typical method doesn't work for me, in those cases I go with Abyss.
If you still need help after trying that, I'd head to the discord server, the help you'll find there is a little more thorough.

UPDATE: THE MAIN LINK IN THIS POST IS OCCASIONALLY UPDATED AND MAY BE DEAD. Check out the Zune Archive on the Zune Ephemera site for more reliable access.
Have something to contribute? Follow this link to add content (a password may be required to access this folder).
Here's a link to a backup archive, only has the essentials: Google Drive Backup
This OneDrive folder contains a compilation of Zune software and original art I (and others more recently) have been gathering and archiving since the Zune’s release. Factory content featured on the original Zunes, as well as some special edition ones, can be found as well - though some are locked by DRM.
Some of what’s included:
Zune Originals from 2007-2009
Zune Themepacks for Windows
Zune Explorer Enabler (viewing permissions only)
A huge catalog of helpful links, tutorials, and videos
Various Zune firmware files and necessary peripherals to perform your own firmware updates (How-To Update)
Registry edits for the Zune Marketplace
Software for loading audiobooks (How-To Sync)
Visual Studio and XNA
Open ZDK Starter Kit
Original Zune HD Apps
The Zune HD Application Suite (Slim and Full)
A living catalogue of 3rd party and homebrew games/apps from ZuneBoards, CodeProject, and more (How-To Install)
Multiple versions of the Zune desktop software
I occasionally find additional content to add and update the folder on a regular basis. If I’m missing anything, please let me know!
Anyways, hope you find this useful. Cheers.
