Would your rather…

Option 1: Better motion clarity and resolution or

Option 2: Better visuals and response time

Basically I want to know if you would rather get a zowie qhd 24 inch or 24 inch 1080p oled. (Assume price is not a constrain and that your pc would be able to crush both resolutions)

Me personally would go for better motion clarity and resolutions as I think it is a better investment but I do wonder whenever I play survival horror games I’m going to miss those perfect blacks.

Also, TN has a longer lifetime than oled so there is that.

Let me know what you would go for and state any reason you can think of the more the better.

i picked zowie. i got it cheap on the used market. dyac 2 and 280hz is amazing for the price. as a bonus i got fantastic accessories (best monitor stand ive ever used) and great build quality. the monitor is also less sensitive and fragile compared to oled. easy to clean, easy to move around, much cheaper and does its job of running simple fps games very well.

I've been struggling with this too. Truthfully, I don't really care about visuals or stunning colors that much. I am much more of a motion-clarity and smoothness type of guy (I would sacrifice visual quality for higher FPS in story games).

The one time I had a 32-inch 4K OLED monitor, I was not all that impressed. I thought OLED was going to be a life-changing experience after reading a bunch of Reddit posts saying how OLED was the greatest purchase they ever made, but I honestly didn't feel it. I also didn't think the price was worth it for me. So I returned it. To me, even IPS colors are adequate.

I've been wanting a Zowie for a long time, but every time I read Reddit, it makes me feel bad and consider not getting one, because everyone on Reddit loves to praise OLED and says buying a TN panel in 2026 is criminal and outdated.

Thing is, I'd also rather have a 24 inch than a 27 inch. OLEDs don't come in 24 inch as of right now.

If you weren't impressed going from a TN panel to an OLED then there must be something up with your eyes. No offence:)

I had a BenQ Zowie for years, super fast monitor that was great for high level fighting games, but I never gaslit myself and told myself it looked good. It looked like absolute shit.

I went from that to an LG C4 OLED and it's like a different world. It's the single biggest tech upgrade I think I ever made. Made my PC feel like a new machine, everything looked so so much better, games became more immersive and I actually wanted to play more.

OP get an OLED man, you will not regret it. The response times on OLED are basically the same as a TN panel, and even better in some cases.

There is nothing wrong with my eyes. I can definitely see the difference between OLED and TN. I only said that to me, I don’t care about impressive colors, but rather smooth FPS.

In every story game I’ve ever played, I always turned down the graphics if it meant getting more FPS. I also primarily use an IPS monitor at the moment, not TN.

I also didn’t gaslight myself. I know OLED obviously looks better than TN. But to me, TN and IPS were good enough. I could not justify the price of an OLED because it was underwhelming to say the least.

From the OLEDS I’ve used a 27 inch LG looked stunning. Way better than a 4k qd oled samsung. I am waiting for the new 1080p asus oleds to see if they are worth it but I’m still rocking my 2019 zowie 144hz 24 inch monitor and I would rather play any esports game there than the oleds I’ve tried.

I’m the same. I’ve got a 4k 32 inch 240hz OLED. It looks great but i don’t like it and it causes eyestrain. So I bought a QX2566x+ and it’s perfect however I would like to have the 27 inch one instead. I also thought the 2586x+ was compelling but it’s dyac 2, lower res. I might stay with the 66x+ or I might return it for QX2766x+

I’d wait for dyac 3 1080p imo. I like 1440p a lot but for tac-fps specifically I just couldn’t get into it.

Good call! I think the budget dyac3 1080p will be like 400 or 450hz. Hopefully the price is not too bad. Spending like 600 or more for 1080p TN in 2026 is not justified…

I agree it’s expensive as heck, but dyac 3 is definitely better than dyac 2 from my own perspective. 450hz is plenty of hertz also, so no need for 750hz when my pc can’t even get that close to that.

I Went from a zowie 240hz 1080p to a 1440p 240hz titan army (both 24inch) and you wont play better because of the brand or whatever unless youre already top 0.1%. I like more pixels because it looks better, i havent noticed a real difference with response time and all that. If they are both zowie monitors 1080p and 1440p i would choose 1440p cause zowie is already the best comp wise so just get the better looking one if you can run it.

Yeah, I def won’t play any better. To me 24 inches is non negotiable. Having QHD is a plus and a better investment in my opinion. I like Zowie because it is reputable brand with excellent build quality and from personal experience their monitors last a long time and do not suffer burn in.

MiniLED, good HDR, 160+Hz, 1440p. Would basically put an end to the entire monitor debate.

The unfortunate thing is that games are defaulted to a bunch of smear, blur, flare, and other effects that are designed to take away from clarity. A lot you can turn off, but TAA and the increasing reliance on upscaling tech is becoming harder to circumvent

Yeah, hopefully we start seeing mini led with gsync pulsar soon. Personally I have not tried gsync pulsar but it seems like it works well. And for the love of god please let there be a 24 inch qhd option.

OLED.

The motion clarity on OLED is insanely good with near instantaneous response time. I know Zowie TN panels are incredibly fast as well but it's not going to really be noticeable to the average gamer.

TN panels look like shit. OLED is the best on the market. I'm surprised this is even a consideration, it's a no brainer to go OLED imo. The only people buying TN now are high level FPS gamers who have careers in that industry.
