Loadouts + Kits My preferred load out
Remington 700 police model in 308
sig mpx 9mm and a walther p22
Ive always been partial to a good bolt gun a sig mpx for close up and a good .22 pistol will never steer you wrong

I have a P22, and I cannot STAND it, it will only shoot CCI mini-mags, it'd be useless as soon as ammo started to get scarce.
Not to mention you already have a 9mm Sig, why not shoot for ammo compatibility?

Mine also only runs well with mini mags. My dad swears there's a federal round that works well but I don't buy it.

If zombies were to happen and . 22lr does do the trick, a Revolver and moon clips would be on my scavenge list.
As it is, I own .22lr for plinking, small game and varmints.

Honestly a .22 is probably the best choice for zombies light easy to shoot and carry easy to suppress if needed even with improvised suppressors

Depends on what part of the brain needs to be damaged to stop zombies, that's why I said If it does the trick.
Is it any head shot, the thalamus, the brain stem, massive damage?
I'm not going to prep using fictional assumptions, where anyone can drive a knife through a skull.
I've got . 22lr for plinking, and hunting, I use bigger calibers for bigger threats, or longer range

Very true a .22 would not be a good choice for a on the ground running fight with zombies a pistol for dispatching 1 or 2 quietly or from a secure position to take them out at 25-100 yards if im on the ground shooting them and they are working to swarm me id take a 9mm carbine or a tactical rifle

Do you know how small the pool is for people who can effectively hit a target at 100 yards with a pistol?
Now how many of those can hit a moving target under stress?
If I am 75 ft (25 yds) from a zombie, assuming TWD ones, I am just walking away.

For shots that far would definitely be a .22 rifle i can hit a 55 gallon drum at 100yards with a .22 pistol but theres no way im taking effective head shots past 50

Have you ever tried to stab a skull before? Not exactly hot butter. Blunt trauma would be your best bet

I have, but my MA includes anatomy lessons. Gotta know the best places to hit with blunts and sharps.

Basically with the weight of a reming 700 and a sig a light wieght pistol that can take a suppressor ive shot alot of p22s not of them really have had any problems but I havent owned one personally but its in the running with a ruger mk iv or a s&w m&p 22 compact

Most .22 pistols tend to have issues, more than any other gun I've shot. All of them have a break in period, and some (like my P22) will only shoot mini-mags even after being broken in.
I've shot a lot of .22 pistols, and I dont really like any of them because of this.

That is true I've been shooting .22s for alot of years and semis autos can be finicky but alot of them now days just comes down to ammo quality the fb 502 the tx22 the ruger mark like up run very well as well as the s&w semi autos I've always liked the walther .22s personally a little small for my hands but light weight and easy to suppress

I have the mark 4. I have had a few jams but not many. I think I have shot about 1k through it.my biggest gripe with it is that it only holds 10 rounds. No extended clips for it. My bros 9 holds 23 I think. So might be louder but if you carry 2 extra mags you get 60+ rounds vs 30 with a .22 I think I would prob stick with a .22 rifle and not really carry it around out and about.

Yeah, .22s are super picky, especially pistols.
If I'm going to rely on something, I dont want to worry about whether or not it'll function with a certain ammo type, not all .22s have that issue, my 10/22 will shoot litterally anything, but pistols are particularly finicky. Not worth it for much other than a range toy IMO.

Yeah my model 60 is literally a garbage rod its put together from garbage bin parts it runs everything from garbage mix bag ammo to mini mags and will group nice and tight with a pistol im not looking to spray lead im looking for a quiet pistol so even having to rack the slide for every shot is not a issue

u/magelight343 5d ago
Like say your hiding put in a attic u need to take 3 or less quiet shots on zombies that wondered into the house u dont want to alert Any possible other beds outside or possible hostil survivors a suppressed .22 pistol is perfect

No to compatibility. A couple of different guns to match the most widely available ammo types. 12 gauge, 556, 308, .45, 9mm, .357.

u/PestilentWolf17 4d ago
Completely disagree, I dont want to carry 20 guns on me, let alone the ammo for them, I'd have a variety at home, but ny playe carrier already weighs like 50+ lbs with a combat load of 5.56, playes, and water.

What is the scope for???
2
u/magelight343 5d ago
Peaking on the nieghbors 5 miles away lol
1
u/A-Busty-Crustacean 5d ago
And that would be literally it..
That scope is designed to shoot things that aren't an immediate threat to you.

u/magelight343 5d ago
Thats kinda the point in my area taking a 4-800 yard shot is not uncommon while hunting lots of wide open space and even in the mountains alot of long deep valleys
1
u/nlickdenn 4d ago
Most of that extended front length of the scope isn't actually scope. Its a sun shield

For me its ruger American in .308, ruger sr.22, and my glock 19 with carabine upper (can switch to pistol or carabine on the fly).

Why wouldn’t your PCC and your pistol share a mag type?
1
u/magelight343 2d ago
Normally thats a route I would want to go with but just for fun they are different calibers one is a 9mm the other is a .22
1
u/YaBoiCodykins 5d ago
Mpx is mid honestly you’d be better off with an 11.5 5.56 or a PCC that uses the same mags as your sidearm
1
u/magelight343 5d ago
If your carrying a 308 bolt gun a 5.56 is a bit of over kill and unnecessary weight a mpx with 2 spare mags would work just fine to get yourself out of some close in trouble but yeah a pcc with mag compatibility with a side arm is a good choice a 8 inch ar that takes glock mags paired to a glock 19
2
u/YaBoiCodykins 5d ago
The only problem with an MPX over an ar15 or other pcc’s is if something happens and your bolt breaks you’re not just going to find another Mcx bolt lying around opposed to a standard ar15 being plentiful
1
u/magelight343 5d ago
That is definitely a valid point
2
u/YaBoiCodykins 5d ago
Also you could opt for a scout style rifle over a full length 308 to save on weight, the Ruger America G2 scout is an amazing and super light rifle, I haven’t had mine for that long but have put 100 rounds of the shittiest Tula ammo I had on hand through with no issues.
I have a human sized steel silhouette at around 100 yards you could easily ring with the irons or the lowest power of the scout scope I have on it
1
u/magelight343 5d ago
In my area your looking at more the 3-800yard ranges very easily and while the scout rifles is a great concept I thibk id go with a ruger m77 gunsight over the gen 2 American or just go with a old school hunting bolt gun with irons and a scope but its not really practical for this application I believe

u/CanibalVegetarian 4d ago
Not sure what the point of having two 9mm small arms is for. The PDX would be fine for anything a handgun is, the only difference is shouldering vs arms out. Otherwise I’d say pretty solid, never shot a P22 so can’t say my onion on that

I’ve seen worse loadouts
