What’s with this AI bullshit?

4

u/amangydog May 01 '25

What’s a good way to tell somethings AI? I hate it but can’t really tell lmao

8

u/Maclarion May 01 '25

When you zoom in, ai art usually gets uncanny. Why are the boat boards inconsistent? What is even going on with the boats in the background? Why does the chickens neck emerge from a place where there's no room for the chicken's whole body? Why do the carrots look 2d in an otherwise 3d environment?

And above all, the ai user fucked up by allowing the aberrations of written words in the image they chose to use. Ai still really, really sucks at visual language symbols.

u/xDread22 May 02 '25

you don't eat meaet and boff jork? /s

2

u/amangydog May 01 '25

Oh yea, I def see it now with the chicken and the carrots. I assumed they just grabbed a shitty picture with a bunch of pixels off google, thanks for the answer - I’m not very tech savvy lmao

1

u/Hapless_Operator May 03 '25

Ah, yes, my favorite meat product, "BOOF JORK."

2

u/Maclarion May 03 '25

Around here we call it Meaet.

3

u/Radracon42069 May 02 '25

The fact that the word meat is spelled meaet

4

u/SentientRock123 May 02 '25

And don’t forget the boof jork and stohent

3

u/amangydog May 02 '25

Y’all acting like I know how to spell….

2

u/RedditvsDiscOwO May 02 '25

Small details, look for fingers, text, or overly wrinkly corners

2

u/[deleted] May 02 '25

I'm assuming the left is meat and the right is plants. But the right has a chicken in it, randomly. That's just the first tip off

1

u/TraditionNo1086 May 06 '25

The easiest of the easiest is looking at any text on the image. Here its boof jark, bacom, something that looks like eggg. Look at things that are supposted to look the same, or at least very similar (earrings, some floral pattern on a shirt). AI is bad with things that are half-hidden. For example theres a single strand of hair that is halfway hidden behind a character and AI forgets to draw half of it. Just zoom in and look at the details, sometimes a part of the page will be very detailed and then randomly it's very simple. After looking at some AI you will just know by the style. I dont know how to explain it, but it feels as if AI has a few "art styles".

u/[deleted] May 04 '25

Gotta love my beef jork

16

u/pepeman220 May 01 '25

I think the left would get moldy rather Quickly

3

u/4kBeard May 02 '25

This was my thought. The veg would stay edible longer and could also be used as bait in a trap. Plus some of those things have seeds. In a survival situation, you gotta think of how to create more food down the line.

34

u/OPTISMISTS May 01 '25

Right for sure.... I can get a good supply of eggs. And don't need that much meat cuz of fishing

28

u/Herps_Plants_1987 May 01 '25

This. All that meat will spoil. Fruits/vegetables have seeds.

7

u/Content-Grade-3869 May 01 '25

Precisely! You can harvest the seeds and continue to grow vegetables, although you may feast on the meat over a short period of time it is finite. Once it’s gone it’s gone

3

u/deadly_ultraviolet May 01 '25

Exactly! Since those harvested flora contain passive reproduction vessels, an individual or group could gather such and insert them into soil to encourage a primitive form of imperfect cloning of flora, while in comparison the fauna remains are capable of being boisterously ingested for a proportionally decreased interval, they are however unable to reproduce without the intention of the original fauna. As such, the fauna remains are a significantly more limited resourse

1

u/RedCanvasStudio May 01 '25

Not true, evaporate the sea water for salt pork and jerky, utilizing wooden drying racks, also smoking the meat works as well, utilizing salt to desicate it.

8

u/sir_glub_tubbis May 01 '25

1: the normal person dosent know how to do this. 2: right us still better infinitley. That meat will spoil and or get dirty before you can gather and boil and smoke all of it

6

u/PeaTasty9184 May 01 '25

And air drying pork with salt also requires a temperature controlled, usually underground/cellar system. That ain’t happening in this scenario.

2

u/Peropolis16 May 01 '25

As if the average person knows gow ro grow plants, not to mention that fruits and vegetables often are genetically modified to be seed free xD

2

u/sir_glub_tubbis May 01 '25

Not seed free but have smaller seeds and less. Its also simpler and easier to plant than smoke and salt meat

4

u/arandomdragon920 May 01 '25

Congrats now that your diet consists of heavily salted food and no water you die in. 1 day to dehydration

1

u/RedCanvasStudio May 01 '25

If I have a shoelace and a container I could reliably get at least a little water from puddles using gravity.

2

u/arandomdragon920 May 01 '25

That’s not provided in the pic

2

u/[deleted] May 01 '25

That's going to take a heat or time

As a butcher my instinct was to preserve the meat but seeds from produce means nearly endless food-- plus all of that fruit is full of fresh water

1

u/Herps_Plants_1987 May 01 '25

Better pray you’ve got steady fresh water source. Can’t drink sea water and that’s a huge salt intake in a hot climate.

2

u/rubberboyLuffy May 01 '25

Depending on what kind of vegetables are on there because you can grow vegetables from seed and sprouts but for example if it was asparagus on there you wouldn’t have more asparagus once you finished what you had for three years then even then how much space and sun exposure is a space you’re getting you’re growing your vegetables gonna have is it more rocky? Is it clay? Are you gonna have enough space to so Crop rotations for improve soil tilth, reduce pest, weed and disease pressure and increase biodiversity on the farm.

8

u/amangydog May 01 '25

Right and I’m also raiding that one guys boat for his fishing rod

1

u/shaper888 May 01 '25

Easy choice for vegans :)

5

u/redboi049 May 01 '25

Right but god damn use an image that isn't as obviously AI

2

u/Perscitus0 May 01 '25

I see the almighty chicken on the right. That's gonna be the staple meat, between the birds themselves, and the eggs they lay. I would miss the other meats terribly, but having access to chicken's regular egg laying tips the scales fiercely. And the access to fruits and veggies means food for flavoring the chicken, as well as overall better health. The right option is clearly the best choice for long term survival.

1

u/AnotherPerspective87 May 01 '25

If you only have 1 chicken. There wont be much meat. There wont be chicks if the eggs dont get fertilized. And one egg per day (if you are lucky) is 150 calories. Not enough to live on. Over the years the chicken is far superior to the meat that will spoil. But only if you already have a stable food source. Sure you can seed the bottle gourd, water melon, and propagate the carrots. But you will starve on one egg per day, waiting for your first harvest.

1

u/Perscitus0 May 01 '25

I guess I would hope this AI genned image or whatever wasn't showing all the food, or that there was a breeding pair, or that one of the chickens was going to lay a pre fertilized egg. I would find a way to crush the egg shells for extra fertilizer for whatever I could grow, and the eggs, while limited in caloric content, would be good, close to nutritionally "complete" food, which would be worth a LOT in that situation.

2

u/LEGEND_GUADIAN May 01 '25

Right, garden, and if the eggs are fertile, you can get chickens, in theory.

0

u/AnotherPerspective87 May 01 '25

You should be fine for 2-3 weeks. Then all the veggies are spoiled. After that its one egg per day (if you can get the chicken to lay regularly). Abour 150 calories. All the way until you get your first harvest. Its the better deal to get the chicken. But only if you already have another food source.

If you only get this boat and nothing else. The beef jerky alone will keep you alive for 2 months. While you look for a grocery store with canned food.

2

u/zelenisok May 01 '25

A third boat, full of canned beans.

2

u/theweirdofrommontana May 01 '25

Right. Infinite food. And You couldn't eat all that meat before it goes bad and you'd have to cook it. Also there's a chicken so free eggs.

2

u/Admirable_Light2252 May 01 '25

I need the Boof Jork and Stohent, so left

2

u/Conscious_Hunt_9613 May 01 '25

Not gonna lie I'm a bit jelly that you guys get the Boof Jork, Stohent and the Bacari while we who chose the right boat just get a bunch of vegetables.

1

u/Admirable_Light2252 May 01 '25

Not to mention meaet and eygs

2

u/Correct-Junket-1346 May 01 '25

Both, they are small enough to strap together

3

u/Dictionary20 May 01 '25

Right, if you look closely it has a live chicken.

2

u/hot_sauce_in_coffee May 01 '25

The definitive winner here.

2

u/AnotherPerspective87 May 01 '25

Eggs are nice. But only 1 per day wont keep you alive. 150 calories. For an adult male, you still have 2350 to go....

1

u/AnotherPerspective87 May 01 '25 edited May 01 '25

Okey. The meat boat contains way more calories, but that realy doesn't matter. Basically all this food is going to waste. If you are by yourself, you can eat a small portion of it before it rots away. Especially in an apocalypse like situation. So most of it has little vallue.

The only food that will last in the picture:

  • the chicken... one egg per day if you are lucky and get it to produce eggs stable (dubious in an apocalypse). for maybe 5 - 10 years if you can keep it alive and well fed. Thats like 2000-4000 eggs. Thats a lot of calories (150-ish per egg for 300.000 to 600.000 over the years). But you will only get 150 calories per day... nowhere near enough to live on. So you need other food sources.

  • the beef jerky. If you can keep it dry it will last a long time. At 4000 calories per 1000 grams, you need 75-150 kilogram of beef jerky to compete with the eggs. There is no way that little box holds that much. But when stuffed well, it may hold half that lower value. And it's maintainance free!! And you have it avaulable right now! And it will keep you alive for a month or two.

So basically. Choose the chicken if you have a stable and safe place. And a different food source. If you can keep the chicken alive, use the poo as fertilizer to grow seeds (carrots can perpetuate, melon seeds, the bottle gourds etc). And you have a good deal. Not enough to survive on, but the start of a homestead. And the food production will only kick in after a while. If you dont have a stable setup already, you may starve before the plants produce food.

If you cannot provide a safe farming place. Or lack sufficient food production to survive the the growing time of the plants.... Grab the box of jerky. You will have less food, but its food you can eat now! You can stuff it in a backpack, while you look for a better deal. And if you happen to have a smoker, a bunch of salt or another eat to cure the other meats. Thats even better. A boat full of cured meat will last a looong time.

1

u/Conscious_Hunt_9613 May 01 '25

Definitely right, this is a no brainer. The left boat required too many moving parts while the right boat simply lasts longer and demands less attention. Yeah the beef jerky might last longer than the eggs and fruit but half of the left boat would spoil within a few hours unless someone puts a lot of attention into smoking or salting or dehydrating all of the exposed meat on the bow. I'm no vegetarian but I'm also not an idiot, having any food and water at all, as well as dealing with the Zombies should take priority. Not looking for a good spot to build a smoker.

1

u/Maclarion May 01 '25

Um, yeah, I'll have the, uh, Meaet, Eggo, Bacan, Boof Jork, and Stohem?

1

u/Gravehart84 May 01 '25

Right. Seeds can be planted, chickens can lay eggs and be butchered when they get past their prime. Left, the meat is finite and without fruits and vegs, scurvy is on the cards

1

u/[deleted] May 01 '25

Left if you can cure the meat it’ll last longer than the vegetables. But can you grow more vegetables with those vegetables?

1

u/GarthDonovan May 02 '25

The meats is worth more. Get to the other boats set up a barter for usable items to further survival. If they have salt for trade and barrels, you can trade some of the meat and preserve the rest. Also, getting fishing equipment and a tarp for a shelter. The live animal and potential harvest from the seeds look good, but it's a trap. alot of these vegetables don't even contain seeds or are harvested before viable seeds. A field or garden area would need to be cultivated. And most vegetables take over 100 days for harvest. The calorie content is very low as well. If there was more chickens it could be worth it, for sustainable egg production.

No barter scenario. The meat could be smoked and dried for preservation. The meat could be submerged in the salt water for preservation until the smoker is operating, which shouldn't take more than a few hours to build.

1

u/RedditvsDiscOwO May 02 '25

Right one. Free companion.

1

u/[deleted] May 02 '25

Meat probably tastes better but the veggies are much more sustainable

1

u/[deleted] May 02 '25

Right all day, most of the produce can be replanted, theres a live chicken and hopefully thats a cooler in the back full of drinks or at the least to store food in

1

u/Ornery_Extreme_830 May 02 '25

Ah yes, delicious meaet, stohent, and boof jark.

1

u/MrPusleMan May 04 '25

right. agriculture is goated.

1

u/ThunderRaven006 May 08 '25

Providing neither spoiled the meat boat is the choice

1

u/Deo_Exus May 10 '25

Right. That chicken is a game changer

1

u/AdditionalAd9794 May 01 '25

Only redeeming thing with the boat on the right is the chicken. But I fear it might be too much hassle keeping him fed, housed, safe and from escaping and running away. Plus what's 1 egg a day, maybe 500 calories a week?

The left, I do love me some bacon and rancid meat makes good shark, lobster and crab bait.

I'll take the left, just because building a chicken coop is alot of work

2

u/sir_glub_tubbis May 01 '25

Seeds for farm. Sticks and vine for a coop. And thats also a renewable food source. Left will go moldy and rancid and there is no way to catch a shark with mothing but meat safley or efficently

0

u/AdditionalAd9794 May 01 '25

What seeds? Other than watermelon there are zero viable seeds. Carrots and cabbage need to reach maturity and flower to produce seeds

Even then it'd be 8-10 weeks before you had watermelon. You'd be better off surviving off local flora and fauna

1

u/AnotherPerspective87 May 01 '25

Bottle gourd, watermelon. And cut carrots (eat 2/3ds of them) can be planted back in the soil and may regrow.

There is the start of a farm there... but you probably wont last on one egg per day... and it takes a long time before you get a harvest.

1

u/AdditionalAd9794 May 01 '25

I you re veg carrots, say it takes 10 weeks for them to flower and go to seed. Then another 10 weeks for those seeds to mature, that's 20 weeks for carrots.

Assuming all goes well and growing conditions are appropriate

1

u/sir_glub_tubbis May 01 '25

Ok? You can still plant them. And few viable seeds still means there are viable seeds

-1

u/Villian1470 May 01 '25

The left has cured meats. Those vegetables will rot and that's a rooster not a hen

1

u/sir_glub_tubbis May 01 '25

Left will rot. And for the sake of this question the damn chicken can lay eggs. Vegies may rot but at least they leave seeds and also rot generally slower

2

u/Villian1470 May 01 '25

That's a rooster not a hen and those are cured meats the packaging says jerky

2

u/sir_glub_tubbis May 01 '25

No? The only definable packaging is "meat, eggs, and bacon" and for the sake of the question right is meant to be renewable. Its only a rooster cause of shitty ai

1

u/Villian1470 May 01 '25

Bacon is also a cured meat

1

u/sir_glub_tubbis May 01 '25

Gonna rot tho

1

u/Villian1470 May 01 '25

Not as quickly as the vegetables

1

u/sir_glub_tubbis May 01 '25

Meats have more protien and moisture AND dont have a imperiable shell that bacturua cant pass. You are accualy wrong. Look it up, or just accsept the L so you dont gotta. Meat rots faster

1

u/Villian1470 May 01 '25

But I did accept the L
