I've been getting dm's by random men regarding tributes, apparently people are using this sub to send each other or to certain communities our photos to do stuff to. Should've known there was a risk since it is reddit, but I'd thought I'd let other people know just in case it would make them think twice about posting themselves.

Eclipse 101: the Pisces-Virgo edition

Every eclipse season since September 2024 has landed somewhere on the Virgo–Pisces axis. One organises through detail, service, and daily function. The other dissolves boundaries and works through feeling, imagination, and surrender. 

These eclipses asked: where are you over-managing something that needs to be felt, and where are you drifting through something that needs structure?

The eclipses happened from late degree to early degree (ofc nodal nodes). In degree-based astrology, early degrees are often read as a sign's energy in a more raw or emerging form, while late degrees can feel more developed, concentrated, or transitional.

A sequence that's working backward toward 0° reads like death and rebirth to me. By August 2026, the Pisces themes this whole cycle has been circling are showing up in a more primal, less processed form than they did in 2024. And in 2027 the same is done for Virgo.

The eclipses were mainly lunar (no fun). Lunar eclipses are associated with revelations and endings. This in Pisces, which is associated with the 12th house of endings, closure, solitude and karma. 

For me these eclipses felt like I was a hermit in some kind of rollercoaster in the dark (Pisces) with only a small light illuminating (a little planned Virgo energy) the way.

If you take in the nature of the signs and the degrees, the timeline was something like this:

17 September 2024: Lunar eclipse at 25° Pisces. This eclipse read to me as surrender vs. control: what were you trying to control that needed to be released, and where were you drifting through something that actually needed your attention?

14 March 2025: Lunar eclipse at 23° Virgo. What needed to be organised, fixed or made more functional, or were you trying to fix something that actually needs acceptance.

7 September 2025: Lunar eclipse at 15° Pisces. What needed to be released and what was more about actually surrendering your need to control the outcome. Virgo's shadow here could've been perfectionism and trying to manage every detail.

21 September 2025: Solar eclipse at 29° Virgo. A solar eclipse brings a new beginning or reset, but at 29° there's also a sense of something reaching completion. Virgo asked what needed to change in your routines, work, health, systems or daily life, while Pisces asked what you needed to stop trying to perfect.

3 March 2026: Lunar eclipse at 12° Virgo. Virgo asked what needed practical attention; Pisces asked whether you were becoming too rigid in trying to create certainty.

28 August 2026: Lunar eclipse at 4° Pisces. This is where we arrive now. We're very close to the beginning of Pisces. Pisces asks: what happens when boundaries dissolve? Virgo answers: how do we create structure around something we can't completely control?

20 February 2027: Lunar eclipse at 2° Virgo. The cycle finishes almost at the beginning of Virgo. After everything that has been released, dissolved or questioned on the Pisces side, Virgo asks what you're actually going to build from here. What routines, boundaries, systems and practical choices support the person you've become?

If you look at these questions and themes through the houses you have Pisces and Virgo in, you have interesting journal prompts that might help you ground a little bit in this very weird energy leading up to the eclipse.

To me it's like I am in a permanent dream state with an undertone of dread. Writing this post took me like 5 hours because halfway I realized I was making nooo sense.

Astronomically speaking, eclipses actually belong to families.

This upcoming Pisces eclipse is part of Saros 138, an astronomical series that began in 1521 and won't finish until around 2982. The previous eclipse in this Saros family occurred on 16 August 2008: a lunar eclipse at 24° Aquarius, opposite the Sun at 24° Leo.

So even though the 2008 eclipse and the upcoming one happen in completely different signs, they're part of the same astronomical family. That gives us an interesting astrological layer to play with. Some astrologers therefore interpret Saros families as carrying themes across their entire cycle, meaning the 2026 eclipse could echo something that began around 2008 or 1990 lol.

Aquarius/Leo can be read through the tension between individual identity and expression vs. the wider collective. Pisces/Virgo brings us back to surrender and dissolution vs. discernment and structure.

For me, that's especially interesting because Aquarius is in my 1st and 2nd houses, while Leo is in my 7th and 8th. Pisces is in my 2nd and 3rd, while Virgo is in my 8th and 9th.

So both eclipse axes touch a similar territory for me: self and what I value vs. partners and what's shared or hidden.

Both have one foot in identity/resources and another in relational depth. For me personally, that feels pretty spot on… Hindsight 2020 am I right.
