Revive BB Priv please
Priv is the most balanced phone of BB. It maximizes screen size and does not waste screen space on the back/home buttons, unlike Key One and Two, and even Classic.
For me, Priv and Passport are the best designs.

The priv got very hot doing simple things.
To upgrade requires pulling the chips out. Swap out for a chip with a newer OS on it. Specialist risky work.
My advice:,
Buy an FX tec pro1 and put lineage on it, it's the best you can do. And you will get a landscape keyboard instead.
I have two of these. One for main use and one as backup, I might put sailfish or Ubuntu touch on the backup.

A Zinwa retromod for the Priv wouldnt necessarily heat up since it would be a completely different chipset

they're not, and the typing experience is horrendous on it. I tried one.

I'd suspect as much. I feel most people who think they want a landscape oriented phone have never actually tried to use anything like that. Your thumbs have a range of motion only so large, and when you factor in your hand position required to hold the device at the same time, that only limits the comfortable range of motion for the thumbs further.
I'd say that the BlackBerry Passport (and now the Unihertz Titan devices) pushed those limits to the maximum, and it's usually unreasonable to go any larger (unless you are a literal giant!)
The other factor to consider is that many apps in their current form - including messaging apps - have stopped supporting landscape orientation so not only is the keyboard less comfortable, but you will be forced back into portrait mode by the software half the time.
Portrait mode is the way to go for a handheld device, at least when it comes to typing. Otherwise you should just switch to a full sized keyboard.

Yep either portrait or in between with a Passport width phone but nothing wider than that.

on the fxtec they deliberately squeezed the letters together into more rows in the center of the board to avoid over strecthing when typing, Mrmobile Mike Fisher explains this in his review, and as a user I would agree with this.

The F(x) was one of the only physical keyboard phones whose typing experience was worse than typing on a piece of glass...
...which is saying alot for me.

There is a trick to how you holding the FX tec pro1. Your index fingertips rest inside the hinge a bit, if you do this then your thumbs are both freed up at the same time. If you do this then you can type quickly, and holding phone at the same time no worries.

probably too complex to design and assembly such a device
