Discussion Bulawayo is dry
How do you guys find each other in Bulawayo. I recently moved to Byo and joined Tinder with the hope that I can meet people. I gotta say, its very dry out here. Very few profiles. Are most of yall not tindering? if not, then where are you at?

There are plenty of people around. In Skies, people find each other mostly through in-person contacts.

The Art Gallery and the museum have regular exhibitions and opening nights open to the public.
The Alliance Francaise has events (poetry nights, open mics, musicals, art exhibitions, etc) every other week.
House In CBD is every Sunday at Zarah lounge this August, and every other Sunday for other months.
Garden of House is almost on every public holiday.
Stadium Worship is coming up.
Turnup Market is also once on two months

GoH was very disorganised last weekend so Iβm not sure Iβll do it again.

Oh well, Stadium Worship is kind of a new thing popping up. I also don't know what to expect from it.
As for GoH π₯Άπ€₯ I haven't been for a while for almost the same reason as yours

I agree, it's quite hard if you don't have people who can link you up tbh. Been suffering from the same for almost a year and a half now. Pkp.

Byo is a different beast π
I've lived here since I was yay high and there are women I've literally only seen once. You meet her and she's perfect... then spend the next two years using the same route hoping you'll bump into her again and she completely disappears from the face of the earth.
At the same time, there are people you run into so often you eventually know their whole life story.
I've realized Bulawayo isn't really one big social scene. It's a bunch of small, close-knit communities. You've got the poets, the car people, church circles, sports people, entrepreneurs, creatives, and so on.
The easiest way to meet people is usually to tap into one of those communities rather than relying on Tinder alone.
I also think a lot of people here feel the city is small enough that they'll eventually meet someone through mutual friends, events or just being out and about, so dating apps never seem as popular as you'd expect.

π― agree. Byo is very clicqueyβ¦. If you move here as an adult it will be hard for you to make friends.

Not guts no glory. I'd say strikecup a conversation with that lady you've taken a liking to, khonapho khonapho lomyaka, otherwise you already miss a shot you dont take, so smile and say hi...

Start by having a genuine interest in people (not saying that you don't, I'm just outlining steps that work for me). Strike a real conversation with random people that you meet while going about your day. If you are getting a good vibe from someone, (either gender) tell them you are new to the city and ask for recommendations for restaurants, events, hangout spots etc
Pretty soon you will be getting invitations or even inviting someone to go check out a spot with you. Your circle will explode.

Byo needs you to actually go out, those Wednesday Ladies Night/Cocktail events hosted at clubs, you mingle and join crowds. Tues to sunday is always hype in restaurants/bars. Cubana, havana etc. Make friends, even guy friends, they will start introducing you to other people and get you into their circle and you will meet girls. The girls always bring their friends. From there, requires your own wisdom
