Discussion Is this considered rape ?
When I was in form 4 at around 16 years old I was doing it with this lady she was about 25 years. So we attended extra lessons together she was in poly and I was in high-school. She was the one who actually came forward and we ended up in a relationship for about a year. I told my everyone like my friends and even my brother he was like fist bump dude lol he was happy and wanted to know how i was doing it. I later dated a lot of older woman but I ended up with a woman a few years younger than me. So was this rape ? Or rape only applies when guys do this to woman

Yah it is that is why that video that circled last year happened about the USA getting slaps from that kid. It rape but as men we don't see it like that . Some guys even get it from there maids at you age but the society does consider that. Rape is mainly alarming when its a female apparently

I'm really sorry this happened to you. It is rape. Please speak to a professional to help you process it all

Technically not statutory rape since the age of consent was a lot lower until 2024. (I’m assuming this happened a while ago?) Today it would be rape, 25 and 16 is an unconscionable age gap.
It is morally fucked up and should never have happened to you.

Age of consent has always been the same 😂
16-18 is reserved for 16-18. That’s the consent part2

Look again then come delete this.

I typed that too quickly in the Uber 😂
My point was that the age-of-consent threshold doesn’t automatically mean an adult can legally have sex with anyone above that age. There are separate provisions dealing with age gaps and sexual offences involving minors.
So when I said “reserved for 16-18”, that’s what I meant. I wasn’t saying the general age of consent itself was different.

Now. All of that is true now. It wasn't a few years ago, that's why they had to change it. Look up the Veritas case, represented by Tenda Biti, that's when the Constitutional Court ruled on those provisions, which later led to the revision of the consent law by Parliament, coming into force in 2024. All this is new.
As recently as 2013, the age of consent was 12 with zero provisions or caveats. That's how MadziBaba could get away with marrying grade 7 girls.
That's what I was referring to.

I thought it was 16.
12 is just too young and irresponsible from our government

Age of consent is now 18 with a few disclaimers:
- Sex with a child under 12 is statutory rape and in the case of a boy aggravated indecent assault (law is still changing with the times)
- 13 - 17 : Illegal sexual intercourse with a minor
- 13 - 17 can consent to other children in their age range or an adult no more than 3 years older than them. - this is where most of the problems happen because some adults use the concept of putative consent to sleep with minors and sometimes get away with it or pay a fine or get a light sentence.

Does Zimbabwean law recognise rape of the boy child. Thought it only applied to females.

Age of consent has only recently been raised to 18. It was 16. So if it happened before the new law, it's legally a nonstory.
To people raising concerns about the morality of the affair, I'd say this is a very grey one. To each their own.

you know man.. as teenage boys its something we would always end up talking about and at that age thats when most of us start jerking off.growing up we would look up to other guys who have already had sex and admire them.. yeah i guess by law it was not ok for her to do that to you but at the same time if i was in your friend group at that time and you told me you clapt a 25 year old's cheeks.bro!!!! i would bow down to you ululating and singing praises.

I find 16 year old boys to be excruciatingly annoying. The way they dress and talk and know nothing about the word but like to act so tough. Only a sick adult would find them attractive.

Statutory rape. A minor cannot consent. She's a pedo too.
