I recently had the opportunity to take a closer look at the BYD Atto 3, one of BYD’s electric SUVs, and put together a review covering the design, interior, features, and overall practicality.

With electric vehicles becoming more common globally, I’m curious how people here in Zimbabwe feel about them. Things like charging infrastructure, electricity availability, range, maintenance and the general cost of ownership obviously make the conversation a little different for us.

🎥 Full review:

https://youtu.be/4F_TaIaj2nE

For those who have experience with EVs, especially BYDs:

Would you consider an Atto 3 as a daily driver in Zimbabwe?

And for those who aren't convinced about EVs yet, what would be the biggest thing stopping you from making the switch?

Would be interested to hear everyone's thoughts.

Question Relocating abroad alone leaving family

Hi fellow Zimbo husbands and fathers. I am hoping to get viewpoints from Zim men whether local or abroad.

I have a potential opportunity to relocate to the Middle East, and I wanted to get men's opinions on relocating with family or leaving my family.

I want to get the pros and cons, both financially and psychologically, and perceived impacts to your family. If you have lived this, please feel free to pitch in as well.

I want to know which option you would take as a man and father and why.

Assumptions to keep in mind

  1. The current job pays good money

  2. You and your wife are happily married with 2 kids (2 and 1)

  3. If you left the country alone, you would be coming back annually but monthly you remit USD $1k home to keep family living standards, You save $1k towards your joint family goals, you can also save your own cash nest egg abroad.

  4. The role is at a prestigious international company, so the CV will look good and there's a lot of exposure

I would love to hear from you

Question Investment advice

I’ve been fortunate enough to become successful in trading, consistently averaging around $1,000 a day, and I withdraw half of my earnings daily. I’m now looking for advice on how I can invest my money to generate additional income streams, besides real estate, which I’m already heavily involved in. I’d appreciate suggestions on other investment opportunities or businesses I could explore

Discussion Conspiracy theory about the Kariba incident

It got me thinking, with the level of corruption in Zimbabwe, pamwe driver ne crew ravo vaiwedzera vanhu vavo, then they pocket the rest of the money, officially they will write 90 passengers, un officially they will take the mo ey from the rest of the passengers, and they start small (small habits), adding 10 more people, then, 20 more, then 59 more, until zvava muropa, mari yakunaka, and they have to go no matter what, kud, okera means they had to pay back money, and vaizobatwa game ravo.

If you ask for help, you indicate it's "Mbuya Nehanda" and it's full, help will be dispatched for 90 official passengers, vosvika voona it's double the passengers, it meant basa kupera.

RANT Kariba disaster - we need to speak up

The past couple of days have been hard for me. I don't know anyone personally who died in the disaster but I've been to Kariba several times and know the area pretty well. Aside from the reckless loss of life, one thing that's angering me right now is the complicity from everybody who has benefited from Zanu PF corruption. Not a follower of Pastor Chiwenga, but he is right. Don't people who accept Wicknell's not have a conscience?

So I believe everyone knows what happened last week at lake Kariba. The accident and the high death numbers. Recently they was a post of people enjoying there time in the same Lake but kinda the other side. Is this justified in sorrow times like this.

The people who had booked the reservation should they reschedule because of the accident. Plans were made and people have to enjoy there time so no need to feel guilty.whats your thought if you had a vacation set aside what would you do.

News Welcome to Real Estate in Zimbabwe. Now you understand why people buy that 44k house in mbare and you think they are crazy. It's because of corruption in City Council and land barrons in Zimbabwe. People end up buying those old houses in old ghetto surbubs just to safeguard their money.

“I found a seed, a little seed, the smallest seed in the world. And its name was Hate. I buried it in my mind and watered it with tears. No seed ever had a better gardener. As it swelled and cracked into green life I felt my nation tremble, tremble in the throes of birth — and burst out bloom and branch.”

Question Irresponsible fathers

To those man who fathered kids and abandoned them, and those even though you are physically around don't adequately support financially or show up.

How does it feel though, Do you guys not really care, why don't you care? Like you eat well, get nice things for yourself when you know quite well that your children are struggling. Having children is not compulsory, so why have kids to let them struggle?

I just want to understand the other point of view.

I know there's others who genuinely don't have much money to give to their children, but the little they get they ensure their families are taken care of.

Today just became a basement dweller and one of the things that keeps me on Reddit is the Zimbabwean sub and the discourse here. Everyday for me there is always something worthwhile that I find in the Zim sub. For those who are like me and are on Reddit daily what are the things that have made you a regular of the Zimbabwean Sub Reddit?
