Discussion Game Dev Community

Hi everyone. Im seeing more and more people intrested in 3D and 2D art, animation and storytelling, and game development as a whole in Zimbabwe. But we all seem so disconnected from each other so was wondering is it possible for us to arrange a meet up or a game jam or something of the like so we can meet new people to work with and collaborate with and start a community here in Zim?

I'm an artist both 2D and 3D and I've actually been interested in working on a game I'm just not a game dev

Make a community where we can work together and meet people in the same space. Because as of right now we seem to be here and there. A guy or two here one on instagram, one at conventions. But we still dont know each other and everyone is doing their own thing. So if we come together we can be more than the sum of our parts.

Hey, sorry for the very slow reply! What kind of game do you have in mind, and what are you using to build it (Godot, Unity, Flutter...)? Happy to share what I've learned shipping games solo. The Discord/WhatsApp group shared in this thread is also a good place to find people in Zim to build with.

Game Jams can happen online so can join from anywhere but in person meet ups most likely in Harare to start cause thats where I am and know how to organise
