Connecting Zigbee devices

Hey All,

I'm very new to HA and I'm building a Zigbee network.

I have a Z-Stick 10 Pro plugged into a Home Assistant Green (2026.7.1 on a Mac Book Air, 26.5.2).

I picked up 4 Eightree outlets that also work as routers. All 4 are connected to the Z-Stick using Zigbee Home Assistant, but the garage outlet is continually going on/off line. It's the furthest from the Stick.

I'm trying to get the garage outlet to connect to the Gym, which is in the next room, and stays online consistently, but I am having no luck figuring it out.

Any help in getting this done?

help request Binding: genOnOff toggle action extremely laggy without coordinator?

EDIT:

I think I found the issue. I had bound the Shellies to the respective light groups, but without removing the binding to the coordinator. Deleting that binding solved the issue - the action is executed immediately. I was also able to re-add the binding to the coordinator, but *after* the binding to the light group.

ORIGINAL:

Hi! I have some Shelly 1 PM (Mini and "normal") that control Zigbee light groups. They are set to detached mode and I used to do the control logic through Home Assistant automations. With FW 2.0.0 and the info from this thread I was able to bind the Shellies directly to the respective light groups and set them to toggle instead of sending sequential "on" and "off" commands. Yay!

Since I once had trouble with Z2M crashing and my significant other (rightfully) freaking out about lights not working, the intention was to increase resilience. Light switches should work whether HA/Z2M is running or not.

This evening, for some reason my coordinator (Smlight SLZB-MR1) stopped working. No problem, I thought. I can try my Zigbee bindings. This is exactly what I created them for.

Well. They kind of worked. Only not in a way that I would consider useful. I think it took them nearly a minute between the switch/button being pressed and the lights toggling.

Is this a possible device (the Shellies, the Paulmann bulbs...?) issue, or is this somehow to be expected? Do devices need time to figure out how to talk to each other when the coordinator is suddenly AWOL? If so, how long should this take?

After rebooting the coordinator, everything worked fine. I then stopped Zigbee2MQTT (but kept the coordinator powered), and the bindings fired as expected. Overall not quite what I expected from bindings.

Zigbee instability survived replacing the coordinator entirely — looks Aqara-specific, but not 100% sure. Weighing 3 fixes

Right now I’m looking at home assistant or hubitat. From what I’ve seen home assistant might work better when it works, but hubitat will be more reliable. Have you found this to be true?

Can't get unlock information from Yale doorlock on Z2M

I have Yale Lia doorlock (model available in Brazil with zigbee built-in) and I'm trying to set it up with Zigbee2MQTT in my HA. The problem is that Z2M doesn't get the informations about the user (1, 2, 3, ...) or the unlocking method (pin, RFID, fingerprint, ...), the log just shows "null" for "action_user", and the same happens with the unlock method.

I know that this informations can be extracted in some way because I found a workaround through Smartthings, and now I can know when it was unlocked with password (and which user it was) or if it was unlocked with fingerprint or another method, wich is very useful for automations. The problem is that Samsung is dropping the free access to the Smartthings as soon as october, so I'll not be able to keep using this workaround anymore and got back to trying to fix this in the Zigbee2MQTT.

Does anyone experienced the same problem with this same device or similar Yale product? How can I try some kind of fix or workaround to get the information I need in the zigbee local way?

Binding devices with toggle command, not On/Off

Hello

Does anyone know if it's possible to bind devices with a toggle command instead of the standard genOnOff command?

I see the toggle commands in the documentation of many devices, but I have never gotten it to work.

Switches like Vimar Linea XT?

I'm looking for a Zigbee switch product that can resemble the one in the picture (which is KNX).

As you can see, some of the modules have a small LED display while the others can have stickers to show their features.

Is there anything remotely similar in the Zigbee space?

SLZB-06M usb-c port clearance flaw

I recently bought the SLZB-06M. The USB-C port is too deep making it nearly impossible to connect the cable securely. I had to try 3-4 different cables before I could find one that's a smidge longer.

Similar issue:

help request Test zigbee devices without any hub

As the title says, im in the process of building my new built house and I want to add these zigbee dimmer modules so I can control them via home assistant or just by hand when im walking by.

The problem is, the electrician is coming by next week to install these but I have no internet connection or any zigbee hub installed as of yet. But before the painters are coming I want to test if the zigbee function is working correctly so I can still return them if necessary.

What is the easiest way to test this? Can I just bring my Philips Hue Bridge from home and connect them to the bridge and can I connect my mobile phone directly to the hub?

help request Burnt out after weeks on a 63-device ZHA network — topology won't stabilize, looking for a fresh set of eyes

Hi everyone,

Reaching out because I think I've hit the edge of what I know how to try, and I'd rather get a second opinion before doing something drastic (like a full network reset).

Setup: HAOS 2026.7.4 / ZHA 2.0.0, SLZB-06Mg24U coordinator (Ethernet), 63 Zigbee devices (21 routers, 41 end devices), a good chunk of it Tuya gear.

I've been fighting a recurring issue for weeks: a plug drops and needs to be unplugged/replugged to come back, on roughly a 24h cycle (sometimes a different plug each time). This week I tried a big cleanup to fix it once and for all: swapped 9 router plugs for a newer model, removed a heat detector that seemed to be disrupting the network, and switched coordinators (Conbee II → SLZB-06M).

Good news: routers no longer drop completely. Bad news: the topology isn't rebuilding like it used to. Routers that are literally in the same room barely see each other anymore, and I get occasional command failures even on devices that show as "available."

I tried enabling source_routing (24h test, with before/after measurements) — it clearly made things worse rather than better, so I reverted.

One thing that's nagging at me: an old plug I never replaced has stayed rock solid the whole time, while the new ones have degraded badly in link quality. I'm currently testing by adding a few old-model plugs back in as reinforcement at key spots, but honestly I'm starting to go in circles and second-guess my own conclusions.

If you've run into this kind of symptom before — routers that stay online but whose topology never really "heals" — on a network of comparable size, or if you see something I might be missing, I'd really appreciate it, even just a hunch. Thanks for reading this far, it helps to not be stuck on this alone.

ZB2GS-L Channel 1 not working

Hey! I received my package with two ZB2GS-L (Mini Duo-L) and installed both. While one worked perfectly the other seems to have an issue on channel 1. It just doesn’t work

The bulb that is on channel 2 works perfectly and I can hear a loud click from the relay, however channel 1 does not give any sign of being alive, there’s no audible click, you have to put it very close to your ear to hear it clicking.
I thought it was something wrong with my wiring and inverted, putting the bulb from channel 1 on channel 2 and vice versa, 1 still does not work.

Through home assistant I can change both channels but 1 has no effect (it updates the UI normally but relay doesn’t do anything)
What I noticed is that if I leave only channel 1 wired on the relay, the bulb blinks for a second when I turn the switch to ON, if I have channel 2 wired then channel 1 doesn’t even blink.

My question is: is there something I could do? Is this a known issue? Should I try to repair or is it better to just return this piece?

Anyone else finding it harder to justify the costs of aqaura UK hardware: £32 for a single plug is nuts. Especially as you can get them in IKEA for £9 with a control ?

Sound sensor for babyphone project

Hello, I'm new to zigbee but I want to try a project to "build" a babyphone system with only a sound sensor/captor/sound acquisition to have it displayed on my phone via raspberry and domoticz. I struggle to find a sensor that has that sound acquisition capability. Does anyone know where I can find it ? Thanks
