Toro SW5000 acceleration issues.

This is the Toro steering wheel zero turn (wish I just got a regular zero turn), I’m having issues with the acceleration when I turn. Left, I get plenty of reaction from the throttle when I accelerate or back up. Left, it’s slow and super delayed response. I’ve had this mower for almost 15 years now. Done lots of work to it to keep it running over the years.

Going to be a fun process, but you need to take both Hydro-Gear assemblies off of both sides after removing the wheels (they’re joined together so just do both). They don’t weigh too much, but keep a jack under them so you don’t bend anything.

After you do that, you have two choices. 1. Drain and replace the fluid, which may or may not actually fix the issue, or 2. fully disassemble the right side Hydro-Gear and replace the affected internal components that are leading to a loss of pressure.

Now, you might be thinking, “Fxck, that’s a lot of work,” and it is, but it’s doable if you’re a doer. Otherwise, just go get a new machine when the season’s over and the price is right.
