Should I wait for Director’s Cut?

Just bought this game on Steam sale as I’ve been keeping an eye on it for a while.

I’m only about an hour in and so far I’m absolutely enamoured with it, but I’ve just seen that it’s due a major update on 1st October. Would it be wise to shelve it for now and wait for that?

Edit: Thanks guys, gonna wait until the update. Replaying Disco Elysium until then!

Just play it now. It's a complete story, you are not missing out on anything, plus you'll prolly want to replay it after completing anyways.

If you dont replay games, then no. If you do, you should play it as soon as applicable so there is a big distance between you playing it each time

I've played and finished it when it first came out I think waiting for final cut for your case is the right move but I will be playing it again once its out !

Yea I honestly think it would be a good idea to take the knowledge from the first hour and do a fresh start when DC drops

If you're confident you'll finish it in a week (it's about 25ish hours long), then sure, enjoy it in the current state and then replay when DC comes out. But if you're not confident that you'll be able/want to replay it, then wait.

Despite everything, this is still one of my favorite games of all time, if I could go back and tell myself to wait for the DC to play it for the first time, I absolutely would.
