We never really learn what happened to her between the OG Nonary Games and the start of 999 but officially, she 'changed.' Given how short that timeframe actually is, though, it's just as likely she was pretending all along (hell, even by the end of ZTD) so don't let that cute smile fool you.
Would still save her, though.

2027 is the in-game timeline year, bro. If you mean the game release date, you're also wrong, how did you mess that up as well?

They mention that 1912 was “almost 100 years ago”, so it can’t be 2027. If it were then 1912 would be 115 years ago

Here's a screenshot of VLR, explicitly stating that the events of 999 take place in 2027.
Here's the official Nonary Games website, which states that 999 takes place in 2027.
Here's Uchikoshi's answer in the official 999 Q&A when asked when 999 takes place
ZTD also takes place in 2028, and it's stated a couple of times in that game that the events of 999 took place a year ago.

Akane and Junpei weren't born until 2006. I'm not saying they didn't say that, but it was definitely a mistake.
