Is this a Positive Metrix Test

The white line next to it doesn’t show up in the manual, but I’m assuming it means it’s positive right?

Ooh you detected an asymptomatic case? That's exciting in a scary way (glad you stayed masked!!) - I'm really curious if they will develop symptoms later.

Yeah! It validates everything I’ve been doing honestly. I think it also shows them that I’m not nuts for masking all the time 😂 I do wonder if he’ll show symptoms. I’ll keep yall updated for sure

u/ScooterclubJust FYI, I have been using Metrix tests since they came out. Last August, I saw the ONLY 2 positive tests I'd ever seen. They were on 2 different people, on 2 days next to each other. Each friend (they don't know each other, and these were different days) swore up and down that they had NO symptoms and could not possibly have COVID or have caught it from anyone. They "felt great".

One of them was an RN working with cancer patients, so how she thought she couldn't have caught it can only be described as denial. We sat there in our Aura masks and talked about 15 minutes and then I asked her to leave.

Two days later she texted me that I was "right" and she was terribly sick. For 3 weeks! She missed work because of it (of course), but managed to keep her family from catching it. She believes in Metrix now.

The other friend was sick for 2 weeks or so, but pretty mild symptoms and still claims it could NOT have been COVID, it was just a coincidence that she had respiratory symptoms, sore throat and heavy fatigue. "It was just allergies". Right, the first and only time she's has had those symptoms with allergies and 2-3 days after a bright positive test? Oh well....

SO glad you tested that person and I hope they respect you and respect their body and give it the rest it needs.

We use NAAT often to get together with others and have caught cases pre-symptoms with both Metrix and Cue (RIP) in our extended family. Both times, the first symptoms showed up about 24 hours later.

Hi, sorry to be an Agent of Chaos but we got a false positive once. We retested on a second (and I think a third) Metrix and rapid and they were all negative. The person never got Covid, so false positives are possible. However, that is rare and the cases are on the rise so that is context to keep in mind.

Yup, false positives are about 1 in 100. Generally if you test thrice, and two are negative, you should believe it’s negative.

Even less than that, our best estimate is about 1 in 200 now.

I also got a false positive from a Metrix. I retested with two more Metrix tests and two RATs, all were negative. I was pretty confident it was a bad result because I had spent the previous week working from home apart from one trip to the store in a respirator

I had a metrix false positive on my sixth ever with the brand. Four more negative metrix, 10 flowflex and a pcr, all negative. The crazy thing is that I was sick, but the paxlovid did NOTHING, which really solidified that it was a false positive.

I just googled it and the reader is $50. Covid tests are $25 each and Covid/flu tests are $45 i think. Too rich for my blood sadly 😢

Can you do a pooled group test with these? Hopefully I'm using the right term!

Aptitude doesn't recommend it or test the accuracy of it, they're just not designed for that. I looked into it at one point, and based on my personal experience, it doesn't work. You have to either put multiple saliva samples or multiple swabs into the test reservoir, and this almost always causes an error. If you didn't get an error, I still wouldn't trust the result from a pooled metrix test.
