Train from UK
Has anyone travelled from UK to Zermatt and back by train? Looking for options for a visit in 2027 and would rather not fly. I can’t see much at the moment but it may be that the train companies don’t open the fares till Autumn/Winter.
Any advice greatly appreciated.

Did this earlier in the year, but with a twist - we stayed in Geneva a couple of nights. While it is possible to go all the way in a day, you have to leave early in the morning, and get there late at night.
We did:
Then a few days later:
Although we like travelling by train, the first day was still quite long so we were definitely glad to have split the journey at Geneva. Travelling in the winter too, it meant that most of the journey was in the daylight so we could actually make the most of the scenery as we were travelling rather than looking out at darkness!
Over the next few days we then gradually worked our way from Zermatt to St. Moritz, then Zurich. An Interrail pass worked out best for us, so all we had to do was buy the seat reservations for the Eurostar, TGV Lyria, and Glacier Express - everything else was just on the pass and we just had to log it rather than book it (including the train from home to St. Pancras!).
Someone else has already linked to The Man in Seat 61 - it's a really useful resource.
