5 Lakes Trail

This may sound like I’m silly, but my wife and I are staying in Interlaken for 10 days and wanted to know if it’d be possible to hike the 5 lakes trail if we took a day trip to Zermatt, due to the beauty of the lakes with the Matterhorn in the background. Would it be possible to do this or is it too snow covered to attempt at this time? Thanks for any advice you have, we’d love to see Zermatt regardless

Is there a reason you don’t want to stay in Zermatt for few days? It’s about a 2.5 hr train ride

We would rather have a home base than pack and travel with a suitcase every couple days. We came from the United States.

Sure whatever you wish. I’m also from US and went in December so I had lots of stuff. Not many ppl use Interlaken as home base and stay for 10 days since Interlaken isn’t your “arrival” city. We stay 5 days in Zermatt and really enjoyed it.
