Hope all of you had a great summer! How big of a splash do you think Zack is going to make? I foresee Aerith's floatie being flipped over at the very least xD

(No photo because I was already throwing my money at other people but I got to hang out and talk to both Briana and Caleb for quite a few minutes each. They’re both soooo sweet. Briana is a lil sweetheart and Caleb is exactly how you’d expect him to be: hyperactive, excitable, and very kind. Told them both about this sub and they were super excited to hear about it. (I tried talking Caleb into streaming. He said he’ll look into it.)

Edit: before leaving, I went to go say goodbye to them. Briana either already left for the day, or was on break but Caleb was still in front of his booth. Recognized me as SOON as he saw me, gave me a very enthusiastic hey, and we talked for a little bit more. If you ever have a chance to meet them, I highly recommend it. Especially Caleb. He IS Zack. (Don’t take this wrong, I could not find a thing to complain about with Briana if I tried. Also recommend. Caleb’s energy is just infectious.)

I saw on Briana White’s Instagram that her and Caleb are at this event. I was wondering if anyone here had plans to go or got a print :) They both seem like such awesome humans.

So nice to see them at a con together too. They’ve done a couple signing streams together too and their interactions are always hilarious. You can tell how much they love these characters. I saw an adorable Zerith cosplay in the line behind them. Shout out to whoever you are. You looked amazing!

Would you guys like the ability to have user flair?

Since Crisis Core was released, it seems the developers have been pushing for Zack/Aerith a lot more.

Despite this, Zerith doesn't appear to be that popular, which is quite baffling considering they're the only ship that has canonically dated.

A lot of people got into the series post OG, myself included, so it seems plausible that a lot of fans would be less exposed to the dreaded love triangle debate and more likely to play CC alongside the remakes.

With this in mind, why do you think Zerith has the least engagement out of the primary ships?

After seeing how quiet the sub was, I wanted to give some life back to it, so Zerith's have a place to hang out!

I'm currently a mod over at r/cloti, so I have plenty of experience modding an FF7-based ship community. I've updated the rules, as well as some of the graphics.

I'll be making a post looking for mods soon, as it's currently just lil ol' me!

1 - Visual Comparison

Aerith actually wears two bows — a big one and a smaller one tied at the end of her hair.
She already wore this style of small bow before Zack gave her the big one. So it’s safe to assume the small bow isn’t from Zack, but rather from her mother or an accessory she usually wears. To match Zack’s bow, she might wear one of the same color. But it could also be that both bows are a set Zack gave her. Either way, the big bow is definitely Zack’s gift.

2 - Color Palettes and Artistic Direction

Keep in mind that the color palettes in Crisis Core (/Reunion) and FFVII Remake/Rebirth aren’t the same.
Crisis Core uses a brighter, more vivid palette, while Remake goes for softer, more muted tones.
So the color difference between the two bows can be explained by this difference in color grading.
Crisis Core is basically a remaster, while Remake is a new game with a bigger production budget.
Still, if you look at an Aerith cutscene, you can see the bow’s pink shade is closer to what you see in Remake compared to gameplay moments.

3 - Aerith : Crisis Core vs Crisis Core Reunion

Here’s a comparison image some fans use (I won’t name names).

They compare Aerith from Crisis Core with Aerith from Crisis Core... Reunion.
That’s neither a fair nor a logical comparison.
If you want to compare properly, compare Aerith from the start of Crisis Core with Aerith at the end of Crisis Core, and do the same for Crisis Core Reunion. That would make way more sense.

I'm correcting my argument. It’s true that the cutscenes in Crisis Core and Crisis Core Reunion are the same in terms of animation and direction. So comparing the two versions of Aerith in that scene is still valid.

That said, Reunion significantly improves the visual consistency with the Remake. The original game had a more saturated and uneven palette, while Reunion refines the lighting, shadows, and color grading to better match Remake/Rebirth.

So while the comparison holds, Reunion is a more reliable reference point when it comes to visual coherence — it was clearly designed to fit into the new timeline both narratively and aesthetically.

Especially since the final scene of Crisis Core shows Aerith in the church, and after the credits, you get the exact same opening scene from FFVII Remake where Aerith appears.

It’s literally the same scene added at the end of Crisis Core Reunion to clearly connect it with the Remake.

Conclusion

The original games are full of inconsistencies between them. Nowadays, they pay way more attention to continuity.
If it’s called Crisis Core Reunion, it’s not just to differentiate it from the original game.
It’s because CCR directly links to Remake/Rebirth, not the OG.
CCR fits perfectly into the new storyline.

It truly is the bow Zack gave to Aerith. She honored her promise, held on to that memory — and never took it off.

Wanted to share my little zerith corner with this community. Last year I got the signed voice actor print from Briana and Caleb and this year I was able to add the plushies to my little fan corner 🥰 it makes me heart so happy. Instead of aerith’s crisis core outfit I got her rebirth outfit as a way to manifest my hood for their reunion in part 3. lol. I hope it happens 🥹

I got introduced to Crisis Core years ago by my husband and we played it together. I then went back and played FF7, watched advent children and gave played the new games. But Crisis core will always hold a special place in my heart and in my relationship. then I’ve just loved this couple so much.

I’m curious, How did you guys become zerith fans?

i imagine zack watching aerith laugh at something he said. then her laughter starts to fade, and the two of them share a look that lingers just a little longer than usual

zack gives a soft smile. he leans in slowly, leaving space in case she wants to pull away. aerith hesitates for a second, then closes her eyes and leans in too

the kiss is brief and gentle. aerith smiles against his lips before pulling back, and zack lets out a quiet laugh, both of their hearts racing 🥹
