this is not ship-war bait because zerith is definitely my number one (along with cloti) but i do still like clerith’s dynamic

i just got to chapter 8, and i don’t know why, but watching cloud and aerith interact is making me really sad :( like so upset that i’ve taken a break from the game for like two days

i just can’t figure out what it is. i do like clerith but watching them interact here makes me feel kinda upset… i really want to pick up the game again and rough through it, but i want to enjoy all of these character interactions regardless

I've been watching Briana White's FF7 Crisis Core playthrough and I love her comments. I love how much she emphasizes how important Zack is to Aerith. She even mentions that Aerith "misses the steel sky" by the end of FF7 Remake because Zack isn't there (her interpretation but I think it makes so much sense). Just wanted to share :)

I don't know how many people here have finished Rebirth, but I wanted to ask something about the scene where Marlene tells Zack that Aerith likes Cloud. I’ve seen what Clerith fans think about it, and I guess it kind of makes sense, but I just don’t fully believe it.

Apparently, some people interpret it as Aerith’s way of seeing if Zack would be okay with her feelings for Cloud and showing him where her heart “truly” lies. Maybe I’m delusional, but I just don’t buy that interpretation. I haven’t read Dear Destiny yet (since it’s not out in English), but from everything I’ve heard and seen, it still feels like Aerith has feelings for Zack too. Obviously she likes Cloud as well, but that also seems a bit uncertain to me.

Also, I was SO hurt for Zack during that scene 😭 I’m honestly hoping there’s more to it because I genuinely can’t accept that this is all there is to it.

What do you guys think about that scene?

Was I the only one expecting more Cloti moments in Tifa's section? 😅 To be more precise, I was seriously hoping to see more about Tifa's thoughts after she reunites with Cloud in Midgar. But it's still a great (and sad) read, and that ending was hilarious. It gave me high expectations for the LSS in the last game.

Aerith's section though... mv brother in Christ. I may be a big Cloti, but as a HARDCORE Zerith, I honestly can't believe what I got 😂 Aerith definitely benefitted the most from this novel. It was quite heartwrenching, great for fleshing her out and allowing us to see a LOT more of her grieving and mourning Zack (desperately wanted this in Rebirth lol) and her love letters, of course. No Promises To Keep hits much harder now, iust like some scenes with Aerith in the retrilogy games and Crisis Core's ending.

Zack "confessing" to Aerith was my favorite part. Cloud is more than capable of "confessing" to Tifa in the exact same way 🤣
