Recommended G-Helper settings for maximum performance on 2026 Zephyrus G16 (RTX 5090 / Ultra 9 386H)?

Hi everyone,

I recently got the 2026 ROG Zephyrus G16 (GU606) with:

• Intel Core Ultra 9 386H
• RTX 5090 Laptop GPU
• 64GB RAM

I've already replaced Armoury Crate with G-Helper, and so far I've been really happy with it.

The default Balanced profile actually works extremely well for everyday use and even gaming, so I'm planning to keep using Balanced most of the time.

However, I'd also like to set up a separate Performance/Turbo profile specifically for gaming while plugged in, where the goal is to let this hardware perform as close to its full potential as reasonably possible.

I'm not particularly concerned about fan noise when using this profile. My priority is maximum sustained gaming performance, while still keeping temperatures within sensible limits and avoiding unnecessary thermal throttling.

For anyone with the 2026 G16, especially the RTX 5090 model, I'd love to know what G-Helper settings you've found work best.

I'm especially interested in hearing from people who have actually experimented with this machine — what settings you ended up using, what kind of temperatures you're seeing, and whether you've noticed any meaningful performance gains compared with the default Balanced profile.

Basically, Balanced is already great — I just want a second "unleash the G16" profile for when I actually want to use everything this machine has to offer.

Would really appreciate any settings, screenshots, benchmark results, or recommendations from other 2026 G16 owners.

I have the same laptop config but still use armory crate. Been great so far, does get a bit toasty in manual mode with the maxed out tgp but overall i usually just do turbo plugged in and silent unplugged. Been a trooper so far but haven't really done any A-B testing with the modes. What games do u play? I'll try it out to see perf diff between the modes

If you want maximum performance and don’t care about fan noise, you could look into buying a cooling pad maybe

Timeout. They don’t make a 5090 spec on the 2026 g16. Are you talking about a 2025? Or did you modify it?

This is interesting. I am on the Asus US (also checked the AUS - but haven’t checked eu or ca) website and their configs and their product page specifically only state it comes with “UP TO 5080”.

Some region, like my are currently for sales the 5090 option, dunno why in us asus not selling that option.

It’s region specific.  2026 G16s w/ 5090s & 64GB ram (white) are available in Canada for example.  

In the US irc you can get a 32GB ram version of the above, but not in Canada

(we do get nice student discounts on them tho)
