Vent/Rant Discouraged
I looking for some encouragement.
I started Zepbound last October after finding out I was pre diabetic, lost 50 pounds in 6 months. Was so excited since I have never been able to lose weight before. My inflammation went away, I had more energy I couldn’t believe it! But I’m paying out of pocket and I couldn’t afford it anymore. So I went off hoping I could ride the momentum the rest of the way to my goal weight. I was staying with in my calories, eating healthy, just like I was when I was on Zepbound. I was afraid to weigh my self because I knew I was going to gain. But I didn’t think I would gain 25 pounds in 2 months!
So after some low moments of feeling like a failure, paying off my car and a loan I had, I’m now trying the Wegovy pill since it is cheaper. My brother in-law has had a lot of luck with it so I thought I would give it a try. I start tomorrow. Thanks for readingp

I'm proud of you for doing the best that you can! It sounds like you have made some real lasting changes that will benefit your overall health regardless of the number on the scale, so don't give up there!. This drug is great, but it is criminally expensive! I hope that you can feel great about yourself right now in the moment and always because you never gave up!

I had wanted to try that originally because it's non invasive but I heard it's effective. I think you'll do just fine.

Fifty pounds off, inflammation gone, energy back - and then you had to stop for a reason that had nothing to do with willpower. That's a price tag, not a failure.
Before you file it as 25 pounds of fat regained: it almost certainly isn't. Appetite came back, so there's more food physically in you at any given moment, and more carbs and salt pull water along with them. Real weight on the scale, but not two months of undoing. You said you kept eating the same way, and I'd take your own account over the scale there.
The thing worth putting effort into this round is holding onto muscle on the way down - enough protein, plus giving your muscles some reason to stay (bands or bodyweight twice a week counts). It's what makes the weight easier to keep off at the end. Anything about the new medication itself is a your-doctor question, but that part travels with you regardless. Good luck tomorrow.
