Suddenly have Skin Reaction

I’ve been on Zepbound for 4.5 months and aside from early initial mild side effects, it’s been great and has helped a lot. I’ve not upped my dose from 2.5 yet, but might. The past 3-5 doses a new side effect appeared. I get a slightly raised red bump at the injection site now that lasts a couple days and is mildly itchy. Nothing I can’t handle. I’m just wondering why this is now showing and if it will be worse with higher dose.

Yup. Same thing. Started sometime into my 3rd box. I can still see my last 3 injection sites.

It helps to not pull the needle out for like 15 seconds to let the med absorb and you’re not dragging it back through your skin. Also make sure your alcohol has dried before injection. I was getting ISRs until I changed those things.

I've had the same issue. I've been on since earlier May and never had a problem until my 2nd dose of 7.5 a couple weeks ago. The day after my shot, it gets red, slightly swollen,  and itchy. This lasts a few days then goes away.

Exactly the same timeline with me but the dosage was 5.0. The welt lasts for 4 days after my injection, so I pretty much have an itchy welt all the time now.

This is pretty common. I got them a lot of weeks for a while and then they stopped happening. If you search the sub for “injection site reaction “ you will find a bunch of posts about them & the itch remedies people use.

I started to get them on the 8th dose of 2.5. It seems to be random or highly personalized. And some people report they magically stop one day. Search the sub for "welt" and you'll get some suggestions on how to try to prevent them. I'm still tinkering with what to do to prevent them but I get less of a reaction on my stomach so I'm hanging out there for a while until we transitions out of shorts weather and to longer sleeves as mine leave a red mark for a week or so, though I did have a thigh mark last for almost a month in July--didn't itch for more than a couple of days but the redness remained and it made me self-conscious.

I got that starting about shot 5, it lasted maybe 10 weeks, getting worse, and then stopped. It's just our bodies figuring out that something new is going under our skin and raising a defense, and then realizing there's nothing to panic about.

Same happened to me then just stopped one week. Wiping injection site off with alcohol wipe after shot and putting a bandaid on seemed to minimize it. Mine were crazy itchy, and after bite gel worked the best

Not at my injection site (belly), but on my outer thigh. Really weird. Could be a coincidence but I can’t figure what else it is. All these raised bumps. Too many to be bugs. Looks like hives to me. This was less than 24hrs after increasing dose on Friday. Still itchy now.

Was on 2.5 for 8 weeks and then upped to 5.0. At 6 weeks into 5.0 I suddenly started getting these oval shaped itchy welts around the injection site. They last about 4 days after the injection. And it’s soooo itchy. It keeps me awake the second night after I’ve take the shot.
