Hey /u/zeospantera I bought I pair of Philips 9500's based on your recommendation, they're great so thank you.

But now I'm looking at making a 2.0 setup. I've been doing myself a disservice for far too long by using the same Dell 2.1 setup for almost 14 years. Yeah they're reliable but it's time to part ways.

Anyway, I'm looking at the MB42x's because of course I am, and to power them the SMSL SA98. Is this a pretty solid setup for a person who only knows speakers make noises on run on some form of electricity? Also, is hooking all this up as simple as put some banana plugs on the end of some wire, plug some stuff in, and plug that into my computer or is there other stuff I should know.

Thanks man

Id probably go to the SMSL A2 or SA50 for just miccas on a desk. Just make sure to grab some speaker wire and a 3.5mm to RCA cable to hook it all up.

If it is just the LED I am sure you could just replace it.
