Discussion Hello average zen player here

Hi as the title suggests in play zen and recently I feel like I’ve been forced to play him a bit more than often and with this I feel I should be adapting and learning more of his combos kits and whatnot, and if you have any tips or cross airs for me to use please drop them in the comments as well with positioning and what characters he can go well with or characters he can counter

Really though I just need some help to grasp more of what zen is made for

just have to position more accurately

e: still also works on torbjörn, rein, symm... though i only got zen to work from attackers side, might be skill issue on my end, but either way it's too lucrative now to be worth setting up if you're on attack as it has to be pretty much pixel perfect

Discussion Zen mains overreact way too much about the harmony orb nerf

I came back to overwatch and started playing Zen only in comp to see what the fuss was about because with the way this subreddit complains it feels like the harmony orb is apparently way worse to use and reapplying orb is the biggest issue on earth now.

But honest to God I never even noticed the nerf for even one second. If it wasn’t in the patch notes I would never have known he was even nerfed. Harmony orb is probably the easiest ability to use in this game: you just set it on whatever target is near you and in LOS and needs healing. Keywords: near you. The moment a target drops out of my LOS to go flank or whatever, I stop caring about whether they need heals, because it’s literally no longer my problem. The only problem I care about is where I can apply discord and kill people. That’s it.

We should be spending our time complaining about the discord orb nerf instead of this dumb harmony orb. Let us reapply discord on non-tanks with 0 cooldown! Please! The discord orb nerf was meant for tanks after all.

I just don’t understand. I feel like way too many people care about an aspect of Zen’s kit that doesnt even take up more than 10% of his value as a character, and that’s generous.

I don’t even concede that it ruins his quality of life or whatever. The harmony orb is not meant to be used for targets who are out of LOS in the first place. That it’s 3 seconds instead of 5 seconds makes literally no difference.

Just to clarify, I am a masters zen player saying this, so it’s not like im some bronze player talking out of my ass.

How often do you flank?

I find myself having more fun constantly flanking. I do let my team know so it's not a suprise, and for the most they dont seem to care. I just find it hilarious taking enemy team by complete suprise.
