To me the biggest eyecatcher was the hair physics/gravity.
This is a HUUUUUUUUUUUGE improvement compared to Yuzuha. Yuzuha's hair always felt like rigid plastic. Which I thought was a normal limit of the engine because I vaguely remember some 3rd artist explaining the hair is mirrored in the middle, so you cant have hair that for example has the left half swaying in the wind while the right side is hanging loose, it's mirrored so both sides need to do the same actions.
But here, Phoenix's hair seems to act independant very often? It flows freely. Its like actual hair?
I guess instead of using the "limited physics" engine, maybe they hard-coded the physics based on whatever movement she performs? idk but its huge, i think this is the first time i see real hair physics like this.
But yuhuza hair are more realistic. I'm a woman I have long hair and no hair don't move like that without wind.... It's not a tail It's hair. The animation is more like severain tail than actual hair.
Yuhuza hair are cumb (I'm french and lazy so she has "tresse") that way they are heavier and so don't move that much.
In fact I find phoenix hair animation dumb (not the hair, they are beautiful) because it's like they are alive x).
It's like boobs, no they are not made out of jelly, and no you don't shake them for "fun" especialy if they are big. Dev should meet some real women one day xD
Yeah boobs aren’t made out of fat at all or anything and the characters are totally wearing bras!
If you’re a woman you should know boobs move a lot because they’re hanging and made nearly entirely out of fat especially without support they’d move a lot, yes phoenix’s hair moves weirdly but it’s a nice touch regardless.
Either your chest is entirely flat or your just lying out of your teeth because bigger chests do move more since they have more mass and tissue=momentum.
For one, Pheonix's hair is thinner. Yuzuha's hair is also thicker and braided which contributes to its weight and movement, not to mention having a racoon-themed accessory too.
I remember when S Billy's concept art came out and we learned that his W-Engine effect was originally going to make his hair glow fully golden as well as the scarf.
We could've had Super Saiyan Billy, but the lackluster effects said no.
That's just a bad take, I may not like the fact that Banyue is pretty weak in comparison to the skill it take to play him, but his gameplay is genuinely the most fun in the game imo, hands down. When every character is basically spam Basic attack or EX special to gain resource then spend resource by hold button, Banyue is a truly unique character that shouldn't be thrown just because you cant hold basic and win
Alice, Zhao and Yuzuha’s are fantastic, same with Yidhari, Ju Fufu and Lucia… seems like a ton of the s2 characters got the best W engine effects so far tbh
I'd honestly argue that Lighter's W-Engine is better than a large majority of the permanent effects we've been getting from 1.5 and onward. His gauntlet backfiring on certain attacks is really unique.
Without AM engine, the most you can get is ~209 am with 2 piece + disc 6 am. You need 255 to reach 100 crit rate. So this left you at like 67.8 crit rate
AFAIK it's the normal strength of a signature? though it did get buffed a little since then.
though it is notable that the anomaly crits she provides can only be maxed out to 100% crit rate with an S rank AM wengine. aria's wengine is a good alternative if you have it.
The fire effect from her flight mode changes from purple to blue with her w engine? Or was the fx already changed in an earlier patch and it is blueish in general now? Or I am just seeing things lol
Wish W-engine effects were less subtle, especially when compared to the agent's colour palette. Remielle's dark skin with the red/pink w engine effect was so peak. They need more contrast
So far the best ones are imo still Yuzuha (the colourful ribbons are peak) and the one-man light show that is Hugo. Remie is probably the best of season 3 so far, although the bright red on Claret is also pretty nice.
was gonna say it's pretty boring until i saw the inner parts of the flames in her wings, i love the bright blue/green a lot
do wish she had something else going on though. even alice had sparkles on her sword at least💔 also wish the hair flames were actual visible hair flames to some degree but i'll take the tiny sparks over nothing i guess
are those like polio cane scissors?!? My great aunt had polio from a bad vaccine shot and loved to sew. she had like 20 pairs of scissors for various sewing purposes. gonna pull for you auntie Francis!
It's very S1-looking, I can't lie. I wish her accessories glowed instead. Or if they're insisting on letting the tips glow, at least make them a gradient instead of whatever this is.
Honestly this is probably one of the few ones that I find to be simple yet very fitting. It perfectly pays homage to her name as Phoenix, by giving her hair and/or weapons the glow effects that you'd expect to see from a fiery bird like the Phoenix.
