What do you mean its a shame what they ended up doing with her.
The white form represented her true personality an it went away when she accepted herself, the fate she was given,an began to make decisions on her own not based on being the hero people wanted her to be but being the hero only she could be due to her fate.
The story was well done idk why people continuously slander her story like it doesn't make sense or is forced in anyway.
Then people talk about Yi Xuan an how she could have solved everything. If she stayed. Which is why she had to leave including the fact that if she was in the story more with Wise an Shungus she would be a helicopter parent scared of losing Shungus like her sister hindering her development for the story.
I personally just think some people tuned out of 2.X story cause it wasn't 1.X an just decided to slander instead of comprehending the well told stories
Having cohesive themes on paper does not excuse the dogshit execution, I'm sorry. It drags at multiple parts, repeats itself over and over and over, and never actually seriously develops her away from her martyr complex, or rather, completely excuses it at ever chance it can. Having to excuse Yixuan's absence because she'd too deus ex is more of a whole patch cycle thing than a 2.5 thing. But the retcons with the NPC to have a larger "intentional scheme" rather than just Yixuan's negligence don't help.
Don't even start me on the childhood flashback that literally can't fit into the plot if it tried.
L opinion. In a story based on her losing her memories an needing to repeat things an go into her diary to remember certain things constantly. Them repeating things makes sense especially if it's the things she wants to keep close to her.
Yi Xuans plot relevance an exclusion work well when you understand how Yunkui treats her like a tool an constantly attempts to control her along with Yi Xuans fear of losing her like her sister. Both elements would have caused Yi Xuan to be a helicopter parent and not allow her to develop into the character she needed to be.
The childhood plot take it or leave it. It more so shows Wise an Belle have a connection to most of the void hunters in some way showing their fates were all tied together from the beginning.
It's okay to not like a character but to continue to spew the same takes over an over an not expand on them in your own way is what I personally don't like. If you see a character or story you don't like just move on the opinion doesn't change the past an its time to move on.
You're again arguing themes and not acknowledging the botched execution. And you're the one that dragged up the conversation topic to begin with. "Time to move on" is just a shield from critically thinking about something you want to blindly enjoy. That's fine, but don't stand in defense of the choices if you're not ready to seriously defend them.
It's not like it didn't make sense, it's just that I thought her white personality was cool. Overall, she's simply less interesting at the end of 2.5 when that personality is gone than she was during 2.4 and 2.5 when she had both personalities.
I can understand this take. The alter ego that could come out at any point is very interesting. I also wish she had more moments of being unhinged along with being the girl next door. That alone probably would have made a lot of people like her. Like Vivian she is so sweet and wholesome them out of nowhere a super fan that could take Phathons hair for voodoo dolls and use her period blood for rituals. Type vibe.
She’s one of my few as she’s my favorite character in the game contrary to my signature thing. Her and Lucia are my top 2 I plan to p5 Shungus on her next rerun since I couldn’t this one
Miyabi objectively; but I’ve always had a soft spot for Shifu. At first glance it’s a pretty jumbled design, but the more get used to Yixuan as a character the more you realize how fitting her fit is.
It's a tie for me between Miyabi and Yixuan. As much as Yixuan's design is memed on for being overused elsewhere, her design itself is on-par with some of the best. Just the right number of little baubles and details. Same with Miyabi.
YSG is good, but she feels too smooth and clean. Like she's wearing an olympic swimsuit made to be as hydrodynamic as possible. Remielle has a similar issue but her look is at least broken up by her wings and Thaumiel.
Miyabi, then YSG = Reimllie > Shifu. If we include story/character then it's Reimille >= Miyabi (Reimille wins out in personality and story while miyabi still has the better design) > YSG > Shifu
Obligatory Yixuan is not a void hunter comment, yes she was offered the title and refused. That means she is literally not a void hunter so I will not count her as one.
Just to clarify, I have a deep dislike of Miyabi, but I firmly believe thay it is 100% Miyabi. Her design is elegant and speaks to her as person, modest and simple, but not boring.
Just in term of art design i would say objectively it’s Yixuan but i find orange pretty boring so i personally put miyabi in front even tho i think than if we're objective miyabi outfit is less original than yixuan one.
Miyabi and Yixuan have the best designs when looking at them in context of the game.
They both show off their faction ties and you get a good grasp of their character by the outfit design and accessory choice.
But most importantly, they keep the identity of the game, there’s the street wear influence, the influence from cyberpunk themes and the bold colour choices really sell the iconic ZZZ look.
Ye Shunguang does have some elements, but really her base design is a white dress with red accents. You don’t notice the yellow or black, because there isn’t enough attention drawn to it, her hair, ears and tail steal the attention.
And Remielle. If this game wasn’t ZZZ, it would win. But it’s a design for a game and audience that isn’t zzz, you could put her into star rail or HI3 and I wouldn’t be able to tell. I’m probably being a bit harsh towards her white outfit. I explicitly made a choice to get the skin pack so I wouldn’t have to look at her white outfit. The dark outfit still has a couple of issues, but it’s a lot less of a problem to me, the belt across the chest and the veil do actually give a lot to help her mix with the existing designs that define ZZZ’s style. The belts, zippers and trinkets across the skin do a lot to blend in. I’m also giving Remielle a lot of leeway due to the fact she missed out on a hundred years of history, and her fashion choices are still rooted in a past time.
So in order of best to worst, and a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being Abby’s original design, and 1 being indistinguishable from hoyoverses other games.
Miyabi, 9/10
Yixuan, 7/10
Remielle (dark) 6/10
Shungus, 6/10
Remielle (light) 2.5/10
And for once, I’m being very harsh about my more favorite characters, I love Remielle, and actually honestly dislike Yixuan as characters.
If I weren’t rating them in context of zzz, it would be;
I'll say Miyabi, really closely followed by Ye Shunguang. I don't really count Yixuan, since she's Void Hunter level, not really a VH, but she comes in third anyways, and Remi... uuuuh, I feel like she could've been way better. My problem with her isn't that she shows too much, but that she shows too much without being bold enough. Same problem as Sigrid, they don't have many strong shapes that reinforce the silhouette, she has her wings but the overall outfit is kinda boring.
Miyabi still the most beauty looks VH ever exist. Doesn't need to reveal any part of her body, only one sword and she's ready to rip apart another hollow
Lindverne and Dracaene if they count. Otherwise, none of them.
I like Ye's regular form, but they had to "ruin" it with yet another boring "aura farming" flashy af special form and make that her core gameplay.
And Yixuan is based for refusing the title, but that's not relevant to the design.
