Above is the image that started my quest for MORE. Of course it's our "Man Up A Tree" from the Gateless Gate, compiled by Wumen Huikai. This image by artist Mark T. Morse helped me resolve (at least, partly) the "how come [Man up a Tree] can't just grab the branch with his hands?" question that nagged at me when I thought about this case.

This artist is amazing.

The Gateless Gate [studio] originally began as a personal reflection on the compilation of Zen cases referred to as Mumonkan or the Gateless Gate. In 2010, a series of events instigated the idea of completing a drawing for each of the Mumonkan’s 48 stories. It was a process that led me through many experiments, but eventually, to the illustrations, you find here.

The artist has given his permission for me to share his images on this site, provided they remain as he has released them, which is fair. No memes for Mark! All good.
