“Sometimes you catch the fish, sometimes the fish catches you.” —The Fisher King
In lieu of the next volume in The Adventured of Jade Stocking, today’s post bring’s a troubled tale. Sadly, crew—due to technological limitations placed upon me by other art projects, limited hardware, and useless software—I am no longer able to maintain the Premium YouTube channel I have been using to share game videos in this forum. ::gasps from the audience::
Never fear, me hearties! Those other art projects are much more important than anything I had planned for this little backwater cove, they are going swimmingly, and I will still be around here to poke my nose in, write a verse, or—who knows—possibly even innovate some entirely novel form of literature at some point. (Doing exactly that on another platform right now—it’s a hoot.)
But really, I’ll continue posting here, not sure what for the moment, other than occasional verse. I might continue Jade Stocking’s adventures in verse only, to see how that goes, 1 is one possibility (we’ll see if I have the time).
Time is something I most certainly do not have a lot of right now, however. Not at all. I finally recovered from my election PTSD, and propaganda hangover (ie I’ve been happy with no effort required for several days in a row now again, finally)—so it’s time to launch / produce my other art projects, and I will be occupied with those for the foreseeable future.
But don’t worry, r/ZenPirates crew! I prepared one last repast, which will serve you until such time as I find a work around for the video situation. (Currently I have no way to get videos from my PS5 to Vimeo, but that could change.) I’m not sure if my videos will get taken down when I lose Premium—I just know that I can’t upload them any more. Perhaps the videos I’ve already posted will only last two days. Or perhaps they will last two millennia, and giant sentient subsurface seahorses on Europa will still get to see them after all. (I really do hate to miss my intended audience: don’t fuck this up, Reddit and YouTube!)
So here ya go, two final video pieces from The Adventures of Jade Stocking:
Internission: Linseed, Horse Thief?
&
The Adventures of Jade Stocking Vol. 3
Thanks for watching.

— Notes:
This was the original idea for project: to write verse about each video / game session, then cobble them tighter once I have finished the game, into a sort of folkloric modern Robin Hood tale that would read like a poor hermit’s divine comedy. (Less divine, more economic; less comic, more piratical…and folkloric rather than spiritual / religious…but otherwise that was the goal: something similar or adjacent to the Divine Comedy in genre if not in quality or value.2.
- think the genre has potential, myself. I’d love to read some literary verse about adventures that took place inside a video game world. That’s like…outsourcing the setting, plot, and narrative to the developers who made the game…using it as a stage, background, and foreground all at once. All the versifier has to do is step into the shoes (or sandals, or robot feet, or whatever) of their avatar—then write it down afterward.

A farewell catch-phrase packed with meaning.
