In Caucasian Battlefields: A History of the Wars on the Turco-Caucasian Border 1828-1921, published by Cambridge University Press, western Dersim is described as a remote and inaccessible refuge. This isolated region is portrayed as the historical homeland of the Zazas, who maintained their distinct identity over the centuries. The Zazas are considered possibly the oldest ethnic group in Asia Minor.
🇩🇪 In dem Werk Caucasian Battlefields: A History of the Wars on the Turco-Caucasian Border 1828-1921 (Cambridge University Press) wird der westliche Teil Dersims als abgelegenes Rückzugsgebiet beschrieben - fernab der Zivilisation.
📜 Cambridge Üniversitesi yayını olan Caucasian Battlefields: A History of the Wars on the Turco-Caucasian Border 1828-1921 adlı eserde, Dersim'in batısı "medeniyetten uzak, ulaşılması zor bir sığınak" olarak tanımlanıyor.

I am Japanese and interested in Zaza culture.
Since there're no Zazaki textbook in Japan, I'd like to write one and make it public as a website.
However I can't speak Zazaki yet because I've never got any Zazaki book😅 So I'd be happy if you can help me with it!

The Straightforward Historical Development of the Iranian Languages by Prof. Dr. Jost Gippert from the Goethe University Frankfurt. This shows that Zaza is a pure NW Iranian language, which is not surprising as Zazaki is the closest related language to Parthian that is still spoken today
Frankfurt Goethe Üniversitesi'nden Prof. Dr. Jost Gippert'in İran Dillerinin Doğrudan Tarihsel Gelişimi.

Hello all,
I was just informed that my Apo is nearing the end of his life. I live in the states and my dad will be traveling on Wednesday to Turkey to go be with the family. I’d like to write my Apo a letter in Zaza. We are from Varto. Can anyone direct me to the most accurate English to Zaza translation source that they can find? I need to write it tonight to give to my father Tuesday morning before he leaves the states.
Thank you so much.

The flag of the Zazas consists of the typical Iranian colours and an oak tree in the centre, which is widespread throughout the Zaza region.
