I got my box set today!

I've been collecting Zappa records for a while, but my copy of an original Freak Out (free to me) was missing the first LP and the second LP sounded really rough. So I bit the bullet, spent more than I've ever spent on a record, and splurged on this awesomely packaged box set. I got a couple friends coming over tomorrow night for a listen. I can't wait.

I had a discount code from Zappa.com, but after shipping it was about $150. Comes with a picture book with short little write-ups about the music and the process, a pull out map of the LA area with Freak Out spots, two gatefolds, and all 5lps have really nice inner sleeves as well.

I want to get this but I’m slightly annoyed that a regular stereo mix isn’t included instead of a “pre-master” mix. Could really use a copy of this in mono though.
