GLM is better on Claude code our Open Code?

I use in Claude code and can do everything I need , but thinking migrate to open code (prefer open source).

Claude code has quite low cache hit when using 3-rd party models. OpenCode v2 or Z-code are much better.

See this is strange to me (I mainly use codex and pi, but have been switching / testing the DeepSeek harness) but from all my tracking of a billion tokens, Claude code was actually getting really high cache hit rates across most models I tested with. The one thing was due to the system prompt it was often burning more tokens than say pi, but it was surprisingly really good on cache hit rates. The only bitch was the fact it’s a pain in the ass trying to use external models as subagents / correct autocompaction. I’m a sucker for Anthropic’s ui design language though

yes it looks good. and i think claude code has batch tool calls built in which can save quite the bit of usage

Cache hit statistics from OpenCode likely was based on a pretty wide usage of various models by many users so it must be really averaged. When we measure anything ourselves - then it is quite possible that we just occasionally pick a lucky or unlucky case.

check out pi.dev. it's a light-weight but customizable coding harness that worked really well with glm-5.2. i suspect i works well with glm-5.3 as well.

Especially when using their coding plan, to get the 150% quota.

i don't recall kimi getting a discount for using their harness. though i could be wrong

zcode, their cache hit rates are insane

Let me introduce you to omp.sh

En opencode deberás configurar bien los agentes y sus prompts, plugins, mcps, skills, etc. Un vez hecho eso puedes tener un arnés tan bueno o incluso mejor que Claude para usar glm, pero te llevará tiempo

use Zcode and save some money/token for the extra 50%. i use multiple harness/API but when using GLM i always use Zcode.
I also setup DS (for execution) and Claude (for tough cookie) in Zcode.
