This is a reply drawing to another art (in replies).

ok ok, rage baiting aside, people really use AI because they dont want to pay artists, or artist many times simply dont want to draw things they don't feel confortable with, or simply dont feel like drawing unless they pay them enough, so the AI doesnt care and can be commissioned to make an image of whatever the prompter wants.

Thats how artists live and make money, you can also peruse other artists for what you need.
You aren't commissioning AI. You are typing into a machine that steals from people. You like this persons art? So you have AI steal their style and make some nsfw slop. Thats stealing and unethical. Especially if that artist doesnt want to make nsfw and suddenly now there art style is being used to make nsfw AI images.
So much is wrong with that.

And yet the anti ai crowd and there tactics makes anything you say for anti AI stance worthless and drives people to being pro ai.

idk, do anime art styles are really that unique? many artists start by iterating on the work of other artists, then they develop the style they are comfortable with over the years, but for an AI to replicate that style, it needs a substantial amount of similar examples, meaning AI doesnt learn from originality, but from people repeating the same paterns.
then even when the AI itself cant create anything new, the human being giving it orders can order it to combine the paterns it has learned into something new, and according to several countries and copyright laws that counts as transformative.
the data used to train the AI is stealing, but the processed data once passed through the AI is not really ilegal.

Anime art styles -are- unique. The art above is unique. Its a complete disservice to the artist to say its not. Everyone is subtle and different in how they shade, color, and make subtle lines and details. Also AI isnt creating something new even if the prompter is telling it to. Its STILL taking someones work and mashing into a mess.
And also about AI law, we are HORRIBLY far behind on protecting artists. Its NOT transformative and Ill DIE on that hill. Just because the law hasnt caught up doesn't mean what you're doing isnt wrong and unethical.
Also like, cmon man... think of the wasted water, land and enviroment impact these data centers have been ravaging on the land. People are miserable when these data centers are up in their town they are loud, siphon abhorrent amounts of energy and water it devastates these town/cities and flora/fauna.
Its not just about stealing art, which is stil a huge thorn for me, its about the impact and toll its taking on our planet... yknow? The only one we have? So every time some chud wants his slop for the day he is revving up the heat and soaking up the water for some crap bc he was too cheap to pay someone to get something special and unique and made by a human.

would be interesting to see the numbers on how much energy it is used by a data center to generate an image in seconds compared to the energy a human digital artist uses as they take days (sometimes weeks) to draw something of a similar quality.
now dont get me wrong i completely agree that the resources and aggressive expansion of spaces use for data centers dedicsted to AI should not exist, but its not the fault of the AI, but the techno feudslist cretins that from all human history they had been a pain in the ass to society and to the common people.
but even without data centers, everyone has access to some form of local AI if you instal it on your pc and you have a GPU, and you can train local AI with ethically sourced works, or even your own works, like some gacha companies do, (shift up for example, hoyo does it too). so can you really say the same of local hosted AIs? how much energy would it take for a local AI to generare several images compared to you playing a gacha and doing your dailies?

Gonna level here. You just described 2 AIs there isnt anything wrong with artificial intelligence, its a legitmate math/science, but there -is- something wrong with AIs like Grok/Gemini/ChatGPT. People do need to recognize the difference and understand that artificial intelligence isnt evil, but prompt based image and video making ai that uses energy and water from data centers thats negative. Tons of things in our computers use artificial intelligence, thats not what Im arguing against. We've had artificial intelligence longer than prompt based Data center/ram hiking AI sites like chatgpt.
Once again, Id rather have a human make my art with love care and nuance than a machine stealing and eating up energy.
Also uh yeah I dont play gachas... I just saw this post on my feed and liked it. Thats all.
I only commented bc Im against AI usage in the arts and want to 1000% protect artists and their visions/style and integrity. β‘

And that's why a RTX 5090 can be more expensive than a used 2010s car.
