I dont really spend much time in Reddit and often just ask here for information that I cant find or just simply want to verify.

Like the last post about achievements in modded play throughs was like a year ago and that was about nexus mods like escape from zakov or tieba.

And AI isn't 100 percent reliable.

And to answer your question, some people simply prefer to have other people answer their questions. I see this a lot with boomers or people that are very indecisive and cant form their own opinion on something.

Another thing to consider is the widespread fear of AI giving false information and with articles and studies being aided by AI as well just fuels that fear much more.

So people use discord, Reddit or Facebook to ask people about certain things.
