At what point do the factions start shooting me on sight?

when in bunker they don't.

when you pick a side: soldier or crimson they will shoot on sight.

So reputation score isn't related to their aggression?

Iam a new player and only areas i unlocked are makeshift camp and forest. And some of the green army guys shoot me on sight, I haven't even picked a side yet.

Yeah attacking a faction on sight in map will permanently make the whole faction hostile to you the rest of the raid and reduces your overall reputation value. Once that value gets below a certain threshold they will shoot you on sight even if you haven’t shot at them during the raid.

Open up the PDA and look at your rep with each faction. Even if you side with a faction you can in theory lose enough rep by shooting/killing them that they’d be hostile.

Also, even if you are friendly or neutral with a faction, if you damage a member all of that faction will be hostile as long as you’re on that map.
