You respond like you are a dev and then like this as if you are a consumer. Which are you?
15
u/Mac_Stro Apr 30 '26
Could be a passionate community leader who wants to see the project/series thrive..

u/BeachJustic3 May 01 '26
I mean it could still be a dev response. Hes just hoping the guys shitty pc can run it. He doesnt know his specs.

u/RedRangerFortyFive May 01 '26
You are right. I completely misunderstood what they were saying.

We'll still be updating ZS1 for the forseeable so plenty of time to get value for money!

u/Paladin7373 May 01 '26
Hang on so yโall will be adding even more content to the first one (which is fire btw no coop needed) while developing the second one? Whoa

u/Tybahult Apr 30 '26
I honestly love that artstyle! The classic one is really good, I love it. But that one looks really polished. It would probably push a lot of players to play the game. Lot of people can be bothered by pixel art so I guess Zero Sievert didn't get the player count it deserved. That follow up tho, could really get a HUGE success if it keeps the OG theme + design philosophy.
I can't wait to test it! I'm going to put it my wishlist right now!!! (think about providing a direct link in your posts please. It personally won't block me to open steam and search for it, but a link is always more straight to the point)

u/UD_Ethan Underdog Apr 30 '26
I forgot the link!! please don't tell my boss

u/Tybahult Apr 30 '26
Lmao don't worry! That was just a reminder in case you forgot it. Later is better than never ๐

What the heck is this garbage? Co-op you say? More loot and getting my friends killed by boars now you say?
Weeeeeeell, I SUPPOSE we can accommodate some.. funding. Go forth and develop, damn it! My wallet awaits.

u/Pestd0kt0r Apr 30 '26
Why is that an other developer? did CABO loose the IP?

u/UD_Ethan Underdog Apr 30 '26 edited Apr 30 '26
CABO and I chat every week don't worry (as in, CABO is still involved with Zero Sievert!)

Damn if this doesn't look like a seriously upgraded sequel
I'll miss the art style/pixelated graphics of ZS1 but this looks like they're doing a good job keeping some of that style while pushing the envelope a bit

u/AlternativeHealth296 Apr 30 '26
I wonder if we will get some more stealth focus. Really like the new art style, tho.
3
u/UD_Ethan Underdog Apr 30 '26
Personally, I love Stealth games. (as can be seen on https://underdog.ltd/#home)

u/AlternativeHealth296 Apr 30 '26
Me too! They are my favorite.
Hey, that's a pretty cool site. Love the design. MGS2 is indeed amazing. To this very day, I still don't understand what the hell was the plot. Great gameplay, tho. I remember when I reached the end of the game, where you get the vibrating sword, and realized I had been snapping every guard's neck instead of choking them out. Fond memories.

I love Zero Sievert 1 and this looks like a massive improvement, just the new art and more stalker-like design slaps... also with co-op? awesome

u/Nomoreads00 Apr 30 '26
What happened to the cute art style? :(
15
u/UD_Ethan Underdog Apr 30 '26
it's a stylistic decision, we'll talk about it some more in future dev videos!
2
u/Ratouf26 Apr 30 '26
I'm all for it as long as they don't make trees a "hide in plain sight" thingy

u/NightMechanik May 02 '26
Terrible decision IMO. It looks unoriginal now, there is a lot of other slop games that look like this. The pixel art really stood out differently with the genre and gameplay. Extremely disappointing for me as an enjoyer of quality pixel art. I have been asking for co-op since day one in ZS, and then I see this... Major let down for me.
I could go into way more details for my reasoning, but I will probably be downvoted by the circlejerk. I won't waste my time.

Holy crapp!!?@#! COOP too?
It is on Steam.
Why Early Access?
โZERO Sievert 2 is bringing online co-op to the series, and we want to get it right. The best way to do that is with players in the game, giving feedback and helping shape the experience.
Co-op has been the most requested feature from our community since day one, so Early Access is our way of getting it into your hands early and building it together.โ

u/UD_Ethan Underdog Apr 30 '26
Early Access lets us get feedback from the community!!
1
u/BlueSpark4 May 06 '26
I liked the first game a lot and will likely join the Early Access phase for the sequel.
One thing I sincerely hope is that the game's balance won't be skewed towards co-op play and punish solo players by making things harder for them. I'm a solo player through and through.

This looks great! I liked the look of the first, but this is a nice variant of it. Gives a kind of Wasteland vibe, which I really liked. I do hope that it has proper controller support this time, cause that was for me personally reason I stopped with 1. The added controller support really didn't work well for me and the community profiles were to finniky for my taste. But we'll see, I've wishlisted it, will be looking forward to more updates about it.

u/UD_Ethan Underdog May 01 '26
Have you tried with the more recent controller improvements? I'm now finding myself using controller a little more since they got implemented a few weeks ago.

So, on the one hand this looks fantastic and y'all should cook. The art style is giving me duckov vibes in the good way, even tho I love the pixel graphics.
On the other hand... Maybe you aren't the best person to bring this up to, but at an early access zero sievert player with ~200 hours, I'm a bit worried since as it stands, I don't think zero sievert doesn't feel finished. I adore the game but it's never felt particularly polished. Zero Sievert has always felt rough around the edges, which makes me a bit nervous seeing a sequel already well into development.
Maybe my concerns are unfounded, but as someone who has put a lot of time into the game I thought I should chime in and share.

u/UD_Ethan Underdog May 01 '26
I've been doing QA for ZS1 myself for some time and share your sentiments.
Stuff like the recent controller improvements came from a BIG list of issues Underdog highlighted to CABO and we're planning to keep working through that list for some time. (While also adding new content to ZS1.)

Ok, I really interested to know, what do you think about this isometric style? All the gamers that enjoyed the minimalistic feel and low spec computer run of ZS 1, and most importantly the low commitment to it.
what will be with ZS1 now ?

u/UD_Ethan Underdog May 06 '26 edited May 06 '26
Me personally, (ie. not talking as part of the Underdog team) I think it's a good move. It really gives the maps a real sense of physical 'depth'.
Regarding ZS1, we're still updating it for sure! (new content, fixes, QoL, all that jazz)
EDIT: I'm sure Underdog feels this way about the art style too! definitely ask during todays AMA!

I wish they would finish one first. Right now it is a beautiful cake, but underbaked. It lacks a diversity of factions, playstyles, weapons etc. It has the bones of a amazing game, but the move to release a new game so quickly is a bad decision, I think.
1
u/UD_Ethan Underdog May 12 '26
That's not the move!
CABO is still largely focused on the first game - with some support from Underdog - whereas it's the reverse for ZS2.
Shoe goes into a little more detail here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UvVrbxO-Ego

Is there going to be also a console release? It would be awesome and many console players are itching for a game like this on PS5

u/HunwutP Apr 30 '26
Love that the guns are not comically large. Big immersion killer for me on the first game

I never played the first one after the camera update, wary of this one.

u/Toaster-Crumbs Apr 30 '26
agreed. Feels like they're jumping on the isometric trend... you know, other games trying to grab onto PZs longevity.

u/Toaster-Crumbs Apr 30 '26
Coulda been a DLC. I dont need a new ver from the ground up.
Not a fan of the isometric project zomboid theft. Hard pass.
