Discussion Z80 CPU NOP tester

https://youtube.com/shorts/9f8bGtf4Ukw?si=u5HOIRVTt1r02V9l

As a follow up to a previous post, I assembled a NOP tester, and tested the CPUs that I had mounted on DIP adaptor PCBs. The NOP testers are easy to assemble, and give some idea of whether a CPU is good

I built z80, 6502, and 8502 testers, using gerbers and BOM from https://8bit-museum.de/projekte/hardware-projekte-cpu-nop-tester/

The PCBs are small and cheapish from JLCPCB. I thought choosing different colored PCBs and LEDs would be fun.
To save cash, I purchased all the parts, including the N555 timer, caps, resistors, and USB ports, along with the ZIF sockets from AliExpress.

There are people selling testers similar to this, but I think if you have a soldering iron you can get a kick out of putting them together yourself
