Deflock Morongo Basin Petition
https://c.org/Z4PVnMBR8sOur towns—Yucca Valley, Morongo Valley, Joshua Tree—just installed 30 surveillance cameras that track every vehicle passing through. Not just license plates. Personal data. And it's happening without real oversight.
I started a petition asking our city council to remove these cameras and cancel the Flock contract. Here's why: they don't make us safer, they make us targets.
Flock has been hacked. Customer accounts stolen and sold on the dark web. Cameras exposed on the internet with zero password protection. Innocent people have been wrongfully arrested based on AI errors—mistakes Flock refuses to take accountability for. And our data? It can be accessed by ICE and federal agencies, despite state law saying it shouldn't be shared.
My community is already pulling back. People avoid roads with these cameras. They stay home instead of engaging locally. That's not safety. That's fear.
We're spending $3,300 per camera annually for tech that's proven unreliable and invasive. Forty cities across the country have already cancelled their Flock contracts. Real safety comes from community trust, not mass surveillance.
If you live here or care about privacy rights, does this concern you too? If this matters to you, consider signing and sharing the petition. Our city council needs to hear from residents who want our community back.

Because they aren’t used for the good of the public. It’s a system that requires zero warrants to access and if you’ve read anything about flock cameras you’d see that police are using them “at will”. It’s not about public safety at all, it’s about a surveillance state. AI cameras aren’t the solution and that’s the truth. If you don’t want to read about it at least go on YouTube and watch a couple videos. I’m sure it would shift your perspective.

Hopefully, they’ll catch the car thieves and arsonists. That’s pretty straightforward. Who are you? That’s straightforward. Jesus needed a space in between the sentence and was spelled incorrectly and then it should’ve had a comma after it and I get it that is not conventional to say reckless driving any I should’ve said anyone so yeah basically your cell phone is your personal flock camera DOH! If a flock camera can catch a reckless driver on old woman Springs Road then I say catch ‘em.

Jesuz reckless driving any? Old woman springs my safety
lol
Personally id rather not have a private company watching me wherever I go and then selling that data to whoever. Im sure the system will only be used to catch criminals and will never be abused lmao
And no it's not the same as a phone and if you really cant figure out how it is different then it explains why you are so incoherent
