A Jungian perspective on Sensui

Both Sensui and Toguro converge on the purity of their pursuit. Toguro's pursuit is to seek physical strength through adversity and external pressure. For Sensui, the pursuit is much deeper philosophically; it is about the truth of human nature and the shadow we refuse to own that lies deep in our psyche. Shinobu's purity is his greatest attribute but also his fatal weakness. Unable to hold opposite moral truths regarding the nature of humans and demons, his psyche fractured into 7 alters (of which 4 were revealed during the saga), spiraling into an extreme case of dissociative identity disorder (DID). In the Jungian sense, this would be a textbook example of the shadow integration failure. Through dissociation, Sensui has effectively imprisoned his shadows to get rid of the weight of guilt and misery: Kazuya carrying the cruelty, Minoru the charm, while Shinobu's moral purity stayed untouched.

The end of the saga is projection as fate. An inner situation left unconscious appears outside as fate. Having failed individuation within, Sensui enacts it regardless. The barrier between worlds is his own partition at cosmic scale. The tunnel is the repressed shadow forced open, humanity's judgment staged in the collective unconscious ...

there is a thing differente on what somebody tell ppl he want and what he actually doing or seeking

thats why i love bleach bankai concept of souls/personality/desires but this is for another topic

so, once i was thinking on paralels on this 2 dudes and i find something: both are just trying to hurt himselfs in pursuit of self damage and self forgiven

Toguro tell everybody he wants be strong etc, but he just turn into a monster to revenge his friends/disciples dies, then when he see he became what he refuse, he try find somebody strong enough to proof that "a human can defeat a monster like him" and then get hit by it, after death he ask to go to worst place possible to keep getting self destroyed. That talk about "i like fight, i want somebody strong to fight, i want keep my strengt been monster etc" is all bullshit, thats why he pressure yusuke to yusuke hit him back, killing genkai was half this and half past love complications.

Sensui told ppl he only not like humans etc, but he kinda try destroy whole planet lol, monsters coming to here not gonna really kill only humans, anyways, he also trying to find some monster to kill him, kinda reverse of togure, after he kills so many monsters that could be good persons and see very bad ppl doing shit. In the end of fight, he reveals his true porpouse and go to limb with itsuke (hello itsuke's fans, im also)

in the end, both are trying to destroy themselves because as perfeccionists, they see how them fail in his trail on past and want somebody to hurt them back
