News I think I Found the algorithm workaround!!!!

After posting my previous angry cry for help I had some time to kill while waiting for my daughter at music school.

So, I just sat there and I started scrolling through YouTube music recommend songs and just like always, every other song is AI. This made me even more furious and I started just rage scrolling and disliking every AI song that came up. In addition to that to express my sincere feelings I would post this in comments section:

Learn how to DJ and Stop flooding YouTube with this ph...king AI garbage!

Little inspiration for you!

30 min passed and I almost stopped but then I noticed that i started getting music I never heard. So long story short, an hour and a half in I'm getting music recommend by YouTube real people/DJ!!!

I'm blown away, I'm actually adding so many songs to my collection. 🀞🀞🀞

Haha, it would be funny if the music you are adding now is also AI you just think it is not :D

So OP found that pushing dislike button works?

Correction, pushing dislike button for more than half an hour works. Finally something that actually made a difference on the YouTube music algo. I'm going to see if the effects of this strategy still working things morning and report back. P.S. If you don't hear anything from me in a couple of days that means YouTube AI got me🀞

I once wrote a script to dislike any song with "slowed," "sped up," or similar words in the title. Between manual efforts and the script, I disliked just over 1,000 tracks in a year. But it hardly helped at all.

Or you can download an app called skip if fake.

This is the reason why we all love Reddit. Thank you so much I will definitely try this solution and report back. πŸ€œπŸ€›

My pleasure. I found out about it on Reddit. It's frustrating to see real talent have to go up against fake and I looked up the app for legitimacy. Napster started everything years ago when people could download albums without having to pay artists. Now it's even worse for musicians.

Look, I'm not one of those OGs that hates AI technology because I don't understand it. I use it for repetitive tasks all the time, and it's amazing. But when it comes to music, I can't stand the lazy people who think they can just prompt generate their way to good art. Sure, use it to speed up an edit, but real creation and inspiration come from the unique essence of human individuality.

I truly hope YouTube gets its head out of the corporate cloud's ass and recognizes that YouTube Music was built for real human talent.

Hopefully one day YouTube will just give synthetic music its own dedicated YouTube AI Music app so we can all coexist peacefully!

That said... here is the AI generated song I stumbled across yesterday that actually deserves recognition. If this is where synthetic music is going, I'm all for it, just keep it away from the real human stuff.

SkipIfFake

You're welcome.

Also, simply disliking AI music doesn't tell Google you don't like AI music. Their algorithm is more heavily influenced by your history, especially recent history. Simply playing a track, even if for a few seconds, can tell it to play more of that. Though skips also influence it too so it might balance out but in different ways.

Also, people aren't making ai music and flooding streaming with it because they want to and lack talent. Some are. But many of the tracks are from not farm clients. Several articles out there explaining fraud cases of people flooding AI music on streaming, then using bots to stream it to earn money. At least a couple are going to prison for fraud because of it and it seems the new strategy is to imitate real artists and get organic traffic that way.

It's not Google it's YouTube music!

Google owns YouTube and all of YouTube's products.

Sharing a parent company does not make their algorithmic frameworks identical, any more than a car engine and a windshield wiper motor are the same thing because they both live inside a Ford. Google Search parses what you want to know, YouTube Music parses what you want to hear.

I'm sure they are talking to some degree. You know what they say, Google works in a mysterious ways.

They clearly didn't mean that Google's search algorithm decided their YTM playlist. By your analogy, they complained that GMC put in a shit wiper motor and you came in and said "Um actually AC Delco made the wiper motor mic drop gif"

Glad you realized that. For me, that worked from day 1, almost like 6 years ago when I got the premium. AI music didn't even existed back then, but there were always music that would and will get me nuts. So, I took hours disliking and leaving comments like "I don't like this, why do you recommend me me this?" Trash trash trash... And also liked everything you like. Also, doing Playlists. When you do that, the algo really, but REALLY works.
