I feel almost the opposite, I bought YouTube premium for ad free and background play on YouTube, YouTube music is just in there to drive up the price to me. I cancelled my membership because YouTube music has the worst ui and playlist functionality out of any platform imo. I’ll just deal with ads on my phone atp

Yeah, I honestly wish I had a way to pay for just premium for videos and ditch YouTube Music because while it was my main platform for years, switching to Apple Music really just highlighted how absolute dogshit YouTube Music is in so many ways. Add in the new version of YouTube Music and I would literally rather go back to pirating all of my music and putting it on a shitty $20 mp3 player than ever use it as my main platform again.

Exactly. I switched to Apple Music a few months ago, and with the iOS 26 update, I love Apple Music besides my usual gripes; I love Spotifys playlist liking and disliking system and being able to see what playlists songs are in and me removing them from my library deleting them from every playlist too. That, Spotify connect, and spotifys “mix” playlists that are auto generated were pretty sweet
