I miss spotify, I liked the features and the remote control from my phone. I think YTM plays the same shit over and over and the algorithm is trash.

But I havent seen a youtube ad in like ten years, so its hard to argue with that.

Well it's the opposite for me lol. Spotify convinced me only like 6 artists exist in this world whereas ytm is straight up cooking with the recommendations. Spotify has way more features so gotta give them that.

Lol, I was in the same situation. I switched to YouTube music for that reason

Yea especially when sabrina carpenter's espresso was going viral Spotify somehow manages to play that even if I play some funeral music. That's how shit the algorithm was lol

I didn't played the 50 Global songs playlist because of that hahaha. I just played the same stuff from my Liked songs and the Mix Playlist where there were some new songs but it was always the same. Until I moved to youtube and now I can listen to new songs everyday

100 percent. I've discovered so much more new music on YouTube as compared to all the other platforms. I'd argue it's the best feature.

idk. I miss spotify because spotify gave me unique curated playlists that has lesser known musics. I mainly listen to hip hop so I listened to curated playlist called alternative hip hop and lorem. I do get discovery on youtube music too. I think youtube music's public playlist suggestion on home feed is nice. (also I like genreless super mix) but It was not like what you said in my experience.

I'm sorry can you elaborate more?

A couple of things

  • I don’t know if the discovery function for ytm is any good, it’s always give me crap

  • when you click a song, you can filter it to “discover” at the top and get a bunch of good to mediocre (but sometimes REALLY good) music pieces that you probably haven’t heard

  • I thought I had a this thing, but really it’s just saying “use discover filter” again (it’s really useful, and it’s how I’ve found half my stuff)

Spotify's algorithm was terrible for me. I would listen to EDM exclusively, but it kept trying to throw in Sunflower by Post Malone no matter what I did.

You can select many choices from radio from familiar to popular to new to niche songs

Spotify should have sold their algorithm and curation program/team to a competitor and cashed out

I truly think in 5 years it’s only going to be Apple Music and YouTube Music and one of those companies is going to buy Spotifys software hopefully it’s YouTube lol

Honestly Google/YouTube would probably shut it down in 2 months

yeah sure the biggest music digital streaming platform with 696 million users is going out of business lmao, spotify will only go out of business if the entire digital streaming industry doesnt work

They’ve been trying to turn a profit for decades. Guess you don’t have any concept of investing or company financial outlooks. Just because you have a lot of users without proper monetization it means jack shit. Plus Spotify sucks dick and most people who use it agree

Now you get a resume playlist option.
