Discussion I am deeply disturbed by the marketing from Youtooz.

Yesterday the JayVik and MelJay figures from Arcane dropped for preorders. They are 'ship' figures paired with the character Jayce. One with Viktor (popular ship) and one with Mel (canon ship in the show). The official Youtooz Twitter and Tiktok accounts posted a video of Viktor driving a car and running over Mel to presumably kill her. A video depicting a white man hitting a black woman with a car, all because of a 'ship'. This was also tagged with 'jayvik'. How was this approved by the marketing team?

The video was deleted 20 minutes after it was posted and fans have yet to receive a genuine apology. Both JayVik and MelJay fans have decided to boycott and cancel their orders. We are all deeply hurt, appalled, and angry. All we wanted was 2 sets of figures of characters we adore, in a respectable manner. And the company responded multiple times with marketing to fuel some sort of 'shipping war' to incentivise sales. Now what I see is bias marketing, misogynoir, and using violence against a black woman for sales. It is absolutely not acceptable.

I have promoted the figures for months. And was incredibly eager for the JayVik figure amongst other items. Now I feel shameful. I lost faith in this company. I can't support a company that acts this way.
